Job Title: VP of Program Information

The Vice President of Program Information will develop strategy, coordinate talent, and supervise communications, activities, and outreach for the Cotton Research and Promotion Program. They will ensure that the U.S. producer/ginner, agri-business, and importer communities are informed and educated about the objectives and accomplishments of the Cotton Research and Promotion Program. They will also develop meeting content and will provide relevant cotton industry information to the members of The Cotton Board to help inform their work on The Cotton Board.
The VP will--
- Collaborate with Cotton Incorporated marketing staff to produce and develop messaging for stakeholder outreach.
- Function as a Program Information developer and coordinator for the Cotton Board regarding the activities stemming from the Cotton Research and Promotion Program (the Program) as conducted by Cotton Incorporated.
- Assist in the development of programs and meetings for the membership of the Cotton Board.
- Collect, review, and prioritize important information regarding the cotton industry and issues affecting the cotton industry, as appropriate, to enhance knowledge and decision-making within the Cotton Board.
- Manage and oversee the dissemination of Program information, activities, and results to Program stakeholders and the general cotton industry.
- Manage, direct, and oversee the Sr. Director of Communications, and Regional Communications Managers, while providing overall strategic planning and input to the CEO.

Management
- Manage and supervise the Program Information Department and coordinate with the Importer Relations Department
- Develop and manage the Program Information Department’s annual budget.
- Ensure that the department creates and disseminates information about the Cotton Research and Promotion Program to importers, producers, handlers, ginners, industry leaders and the cotton industry in general.
- Ensure that the department supports the VP of Importer Relations with relevant communications information and materials, including staff support for specific projects.
- Develop plans for and support the professional development of employees in the department
Communications
- Supervise on-going communications projects and develop appropriate promotional projects and/or initiatives.
- Oversee the development and production of corporate collateral, visual aids, press releases and printed materials to increase producer and importer industry awareness and support of the R&P Program.
- Oversee the corporate identity/branding of all Cotton Board materials.
- Design leadership materials to be used by Cotton Board staff and oversee printing process for these materials
- Work directly with members of the media to amplify Cotton Incorporated’s recent accomplishments and distribute news regarding its research and promotion activities.
- Produce news releases, feature stories for agricultural publications, and talking points to guide staff messaging
- Oversee the publication of for Cotton Leader, The Cotton Board's monthly newsletter.
- Produce radio advertisement spots when needed.
- Manage the Cotton Board’s Social Media strategy.
- Coordinate with other cotton industry organizations to amplify key messages
- Oversee, produce, and manage the Cotton Board Web site
Industry Relations
- Develop projects and related materials to maintain / advance the image and support of the Cotton R&P Program and Cotton Incorporated by cotton producers and importers and related industries through outreach, program participation and other activities.
- Represent the Cotton Board at meetings, conferences and other events.
- Deliver presentations concerning the Cotton Board, Cotton Incorporated and the Cotton Research and Promotion Program.
- Work cooperatively with agri-businesses to increase the visibility of R&P accomplishments.
- Oversee the sponsorships program to help cover certain costs associated with Producer Tours, Cotton Board/Cotton Incorporated meetings, the Cotton Board Annual Cotton Industry Calendar, and other priority projects as determined by the President.
Administration
- Review, approve and submit invoices.
- Contractreview, negotiation and approval.
- Contribute to planning and program development for Cotton Board meetings and other projects and activities.
- Support Cotton Board Standing / Program Committees as assigned.

Educational/Experience Required:
- Four-year degree in communications and/or public relations preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
- Ten years of experience in public relations (or similar field) required.
- Proven communication, presentation, and writing skills required.
- Seasoned manager.
Environment:
- This position is in Memphis, TN
- Hybrid work environment allowed following training period
- Considerable travel
