Lifebridge North Shore is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness and supporting vulnerable individuals across our region. As part of our Philanthropy team, the Communications and Events Manager plays a critical role in sharing our story, engaging the community, and elevating our impact.
Position Summary
The Communications and Events Manager is responsible for developing and executing Lifebridge’s external communications, marketing initiatives, and event planning. Working closely with leadership, program teams, and community partners, this role ensures our message is clear, consistent, and compelling — and that our events reflect and amplify our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Marketing
- Partner with the VP of Philanthropy to create and implement an annual communications and marketing strategy.
- Write, design, and distribute a range of materials including flyers, brochures, appeals, newsletters, impact reports, and event invitations.
- Create and manage content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including a posting calendar and performance monitoring.
- Keep website content fresh and accurate (WordPress or similar platform).
- Produce and distribute a monthly e-newsletter featuring stories, updates, and event announcements.
- Develop multimedia content (videos, podcasts) to deepen community engagement.
- Stay current on communication tools and trends to continuously improve outreach efforts.
- Maintain relationships with marketing vendors and design professionals.
- Represent Lifebridge at internal and external events as needed.
- Occasionally, help prepare grant applications for new or special initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Lifebridge North Shore’s digital marketing efforts, using analytics to inform strategy and content development / curation across platforms, and cultivate adoption of best practices by staff across the organization.
Event Management
- Support branding, planning, promotion, logistics, and execution of Lifebridge events.
- Work with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure events run smoothly and reflect the organization’s mission and values.
- Track event success and engagement to inform future planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, graphic design or related field — or equivalent professional experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, events, or nonprofit development.
- Strong storytelling, writing, presentation, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Graphic design proficiency (Canva or similar) and a strong visual sensibility.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), website CMS (e.g., WordPress), and social media tools.
- Experience developing messages that resonate with socioeconomically diverse audiences and the ability to translate housing insecurity and policy issues for general audiences.
- The ability to use behavioral science principles to analyze the motivations of target audiences and identify barriers that prevent them from undertaking desired actions.
- Comfortable with public speaking and representing an organization in the community.
- Self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Collaborative, flexible, and able to thrive in a mission-driven environment.
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends for events.
Schedule, Compensation, and Hire Process:
This is a full-time (40-hour per week), position that includes local travel to Lifebridge locations and community events. This position will be on-site in our Beverly office with the option to work remotely 1 – 2 days per week. Our office culture emphasizes scheduling flexibility to accommodate a positive work-life balance.
The salary for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 and includes benefits, holidays and vacation days.
