Are you passionate about storytelling, project management, and design? We're looking for a Managing Editor to lead the content side of our city magazines—from editorial planning, writing and content creation to layout oversight and digital publishing.
As Managing Editor, you'll serve as the lead project manager for all editorial, overseeing the calendar, coordinating contributors, managing production timelines, and helping shape the visual direction of each issue. You'll work cross-functionally across editorial, design, and advertiser content—often all in the same day.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role in a small, creative team. You'll need strong editorial instincts, design awareness, and a proactive mindset to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage the editorial calendar for all brands
- Assign and edit stories; write short-form content as needed
- Coordinate writers, photographers, and the content coordinator
- Oversee editorial production, proofing, layout flow, and deadlines
- Collaborate with the designer to maintain visual integrity of each issue
- Ensure sponsored content is executed accurately and on-brand
- Publish and repurpose content for digital (social, website, newsletter)
- Attend community events, photoshoots, and represent the brand locally
What We’re Looking For- Experience in editorial, publishing, or content management
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Eye for design, layout, and visual balance
- Familiar with InDesign, InCopy, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Confident working independently in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment
- Bonus: Experience in a magazine or lifestyle publishing setting

Salary: Starting at $48,000/yr.
