The University of South Alabama’s department of Marketing and Communications is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Strategic Communications. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
- Works collaboratively and independently to produce content that is engaging and accurate.
- Fosters a greater connection and improved user experience among diverse target audiences.
- Aligns with brand guidelines on style, quality, and voice.
- Serves as part of a team tasked with telling authentic and compelling stories that strengthen the University and advance its mission.
- Works with colleagues within the Office of Marketing and Communications, and across the University, on writing, editing, and distributing content that supports strategic objectives, with an emphasis on content for South Today, USA News, and South Magazine, marketing collateral and special initiatives.
- Serves as the lead writer and editor for the weekly e-newsletter, South Today.
- Works with the Director, Creative Services in the design and distribution of South Today.
- Serves as an advisor to other University units that produce digital newsletters.
- Writes news and feature stories while managing the USA News portal on the website.
- Writes content for video scripts, advertising and marketing collateral.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
