The West Michigan Lakeshore Association of REALTORS® (WMLAR) is seeking a Communications and Outreach Manager to help strengthen and grow member engagement across our growing organization. We’re looking for a creative, strategic communicator who can blend marketing know-how with genuine relationship-building skills to connect with our 1,400+ REALTOR® and affiliate members.
Celebrating our 25th year in 2025, WMLAR proudly serves real estate professionals throughout Allegan, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. We provide education, professional standards, advocacy, and MLS services that help members succeed in a changing real estate landscape. The Communications Manager will play a key role in conveying that value to members — and ensuring our communications inspire, inform, and engage.

Core Responsibilities
· Oversee creation and distribution of all member communications, including the Weekly Connection e-newsletter, event announcements, and educational promotions.
· Maintain, update, and develop content for the WMLAR website and all social media channels.
· Monitor and analyze engagement metrics to improve communication effectiveness and member reach.
· Nurture and grow relationships with the association’s more than 100 affiliates, creating sponsorship programs and opportunities in connection with WMLAR events and services.
· Collaborate with volunteer committees to craft and share messages with members and the public.
· Support planning and promotion of events, classes, and networking opportunities to enhance the member experience.
· Maintain the association’s communication calendar and ensure consistent, timely delivery of content.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum of two years’ experience in communications, marketing, or member engagement, demonstrated growth in responsibility and skill.
· Experience in or strong interest in the real estate industry.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact and WordPress.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and message for different audiences.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Bonus skills: Basic video editing and publishing experience (e.g., social video reels or event recaps).
