Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans and campaign aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop creative, engaging messaging for digital and print media
- Create visual material such as logos, infographics, PowerPoint templates and presentations.
- Ensure consistency and conform to organizational policies and practices.
- Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders and understand their communication objectives and produce customized design solutions.
- Create and schedule social media content in coordination with management.
- Effectively manage communication plan tasks and timelines
- Develop Quarterly newsletter for the directorate.
- Develop articles for Public Affairs to publish on agency website
- Attend conferences, key meetings and other events to develop articles, take photographs
- Aid in coordinating conference collateral such as handouts, booth materials, posters, etc.
- Develop event Flyers and other collateral to promote events
- Develop Knowledge Base Articles documenting processes, how-to's and addressing frequently asked questions
- Assisting in the creation and organization of strategic communication collateral such as Program One Pagers, Personnel Bios, org charts
- Assist in developing/editing PowerPoint briefs and presentations, both graphics and content.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline (for example: logistics, management, communications, information technology).
- At least 3 years of applied strategic communication experience working in a Federal Government or DoD environment.
- Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to tailor messages to specific audiences.
- Competency in MS Office Products including Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Proficiency with MS Teams. SharePoint user experience is a plus.
- Experience producing Social Media communications utilizing common mediums, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram.
- Proficiency with design software tools such as Adobe products, Canva, and other tools to create presentations and flyers.
- An adjudicated National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at time of proposal submission. Personnel may obtain IT-II Level from DLA after contract award.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Provide writing samples from previous work in DoD and non-DoD organizations.
Additional Info
- Ideally the candidate will be in the DC area
- While the bulk of the work can be performed remotely or at our Virginia office, occasional days at the client site will be necessary/required.
- The position may involve/require occasional travel to conferences outside of the DC area as well as in the DC area.
