The Marketing Communications group within Hearst's Corporate Communications team promotes the company, its values and initiatives, its executives and business units, as well as increases engagement across Hearst's internal and external communications channels.
The Corporate Marketing Communications intern assists in these efforts, which are primarily focused on internal communications.
This intern will be part of the Neurodiversity@Hearst program, a paid, full-time 15-week internship program for neurodivergent/autistic talent interested in enhancing their skills.
What You'll Do:
- Write and edit short-form copy.
- Update web content on Hearst's intranet (MyHEARST) and external website (Hearst.com) using Liferay CMS.
- Conduct audits of MyHEARST and Hearst.com content.
- Support content development for internal bi-weekly company newsletter (CONNEX).
- Source content for the daily Hearstlink newsletter and ESG-related newsletters.
- Conduct desktop research for marketing initiatives and support administrative tasks.
- Review copy submitted through Airtable.
- Analyze newsletter performance data using Sailthru and spreadsheets.
- Use approved generative AI tools to support tasks.
- Support occasional press and social monitoring.
- Participate in daily status meetings.
- Complete a capstone-style project to improve communications channel performance.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, marketing, communications or related field preferred.
- Ability to produce clear written content and proofread with accuracy.
- Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Style preferred.
- Interest in learning new software programs and technologies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT).
- Experience using AI tools for writing or analysis tasks preferred.
- Interest in or experience with basic data analysis.
- Experience using Airtable (or similar) to manage content workflows preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team setting.
