Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in human services.
Experience: One (1) or more years' experience in a child-serving system, including familiarity with child welfare and behavioral health systems, as well as clinical/treatment support and system intervention.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of the drug and alcohol field, specifically as it relates to women and children.
- Thorough knowledge of child welfare and behavioral health systems.
- Thorough knowledge of clinical/treatment support and system intervention.
- Thorough knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
- Thorough knowledge of the drug and alcohol abusing subculture, of addictive behaviors, and of the therapeutic community.
- Thorough knowledge of individual and group behavior and the effective ways of working with them.
- Ability to be culturally and linguistically competent to deliver services to the population of children and families targeted.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, children, other members of staff, outside agencies, institutions, and the general public.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in developing, implementing, interpreting, and evaluating program policies, procedures, and regulations
Your Responsibilities In This Role May Include
- Outreach and support for the caregivers and children not in treatment w/ the client (mental health, school-based, addictions family support)
- Sending information (newsletter and/or and connecting the families and supports to local services
- Helping set up family support sessions and visitations
- Work with Prevention Specialist w/ children living at residential facility and with client on any needed support (mental health, school-based, addictions family support.
- Work with both Coordinators and the Aftercare Specialist in connecting w/ the clients to establish the needed relationship
- Serve as liaison/point person for all child-serving systems and all needs concerning the children of women in treatment.
- Maintain accurate records for children.
- Complete service data reporting forms and other reports on a monthly basis.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional education.
- Attend and participate in functions/meetings related to the coordination of services for children.
- Complete the date entry for the program to ensure reports are completed timely.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- All other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
