Approved rate of pay: $19.23/hr
Location: Northeastern Seminary at Roberts Wesleyan University
Position Summary
The Student & Pastoral Outreach Coordinator is designed to promote the Seminary’s activities, including the grants, and bridge the gap between academic learning and community outreach. This position focuses on fostering a vibrant online culture for students and strengthening partnerships with the broader church community. The selected individual will serve as a key storyteller and community builder, leveraging digital tools and collaborative relationships to enhance the Seminary’s reach and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Cultivation: In collaboration with an Instructional Mentor and Project Lead, develop and implement strategies to boost student interconnectedness and improve online seminary culture.
- Digital Communication: In collaboration with the office of Enrollment and Marketing, manage the student communication workflow, including the production of monthly newsletters and the management of social media channels.
- Event Coordination: Organize and facilitate virtual and in-person community events that engage both current students and external ministry partners.
- Content Creation: Share student stories and translate academic learning into practical ministry resources for a network of ministry leaders and alumni.
- System Management: Utilize the Seminary’s CRM system, the Seminary website, and AV equipment to expand outreach.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work alongside the Seminary’s leadership team, Faculty, and departments like Admissions and Enrollment Marketing to amplify grant-funded initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, an individual must demonstrate a blend of technical proficiency and relational intelligence:
- Digital Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CRM systems, Content Management Systems (CMS) for websites, and social media management.
- Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal skills, with a talent for "storytelling" that resonates with a faith-based audience.
- Technical Savvy: Ability to leverage social media and AV equipment for virtual events and content production.
- Organizational Prowess: Ability to manage multiple workflows, from newsletter calendars to event logistics.
- Relational Networking: Experience in community building, outreach, or pastoral care, specifically within a higher education or ministry context.
Organizational Framework
The Coordinator reports to the Dean of Northeastern Seminary and collaborates closely with an Instructional Mentor and Project Lead, Enrollment Marketing, Academic Services, and Faculty.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Ministry, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
- Preferred Experience: 2+ years of experience in student services, digital marketing, or church outreach. Familiarity with the unique needs of online student populations is a significant plus.
