Company Description
Awen (pronounced Ah-when) is a boutique creative agency inspiring transformative experiences at the intersection of governance, the creator economy, and emerging technology. Rooted in the ancient symbol of 'divine inspiration,' we empower creators—especially in music and digital media—to push boundaries through innovative events, experiential projects, and technology-enabled solutions.
We bridge artistic expression with cutting-edge tech, supporting independent artists by challenging traditional industry middlemen, enabling true digital ownership and curating memorable moments like musical storytelling. Our work focuses on reclaiming value for creators, fostering community-driven innovation, and blending human creativity with decentralized systems to ignite the next wave of breakthroughs.
We're looking for a versatile, detail-oriented individual to take primary ownership of managing all music-related accounts across artists and our software/products. This is a "many hats" role that combines day-to-day administration, technical backend work, outreach, content creation, and creative IP stewardship in a remote, fast-moving environment. If you're organized, proactive, music-passionate, and comfortable juggling tasks from content posting to rights coordination, you'll thrive here.
Primary Responsibilities
- Full Management of Music Accounts: Oversee and maintain social media, streaming, blockchain/platform accounts, and digital storefronts for multiple artists and music-related software/products (e.g., artist releases on Stuff.io, Sync.Land licensing catalog, Valt token-gated content). Handle daily posting, engagement, updates, and performance monitoring.
- WordPress & Website Backend Management: Dive into WordPress sites for updates, content uploads, plugin maintenance, page edits, and ensuring music/product pages (releases, artist bios, licensing info) stay current and optimized.
- Email & Communication Handling: Draft, send, and manage professional emails (e.g., outreach to collaborators, fan responses, licensing inquiries, newsletter sends). Track correspondence and follow-ups in organized systems.
- Phone & Direct Outreach: Make outbound calls and coordinate with artists, venues, partners, rights holders, or platforms as needed (e.g., for sync opportunities, collaborations, or issue resolution).
- Creative IP Administration: Assist with managing music rights, metadata, licensing agreements, digital ownership records (on-chain and off), release schedules, and basic contract/rights tracking to protect and monetize creator assets.
- Content Creation (Big Plus): Write engaging copy for blog posts, social captions, newsletters, artist features, and promotional materials. Tailor tone for music/Web3/creator audiences.
- Media & Visual Support (Bonus): If skilled, handle light media tasks such as preparing audio clips, images/graphics for posts, basic video edits, or Canva-style assets to support releases and promotions.
Requirements
- Genuine passion for music, independent artists, and the shift toward creator-owned digital ecosystems (Web3, blockchain, direct-to-fan models a plus).
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple accounts/projects simultaneously.
- Experience with WordPress (backend editing, content updates, basic troubleshooting).
- Proficient in email tools (e.g., Gmail, Mailerlite) and basic CRM/spreadsheet tracking (Notion, Google Sheets, etc.).
- Confident communicator—comfortable writing professional emails and making phone calls.
- Reliable self-starter who can work independently in a remote setting.
- Basic tech fluency (social platforms, Google Workspace, Canva or similar).
Preferred Skills (Big Bonuses)
- Copywriting experience for blogs, social media, or music promotions.
- Familiarity with music platforms (Spotify, Bandcamp, Stuff.io, streaming/distribution tools) or blockchain/media token basics.
- Any media production skills (photo editing, short video clips, audio prep).
- Prior experience in artist management, licensing, rights admin, or creative project coordination.
What We Offer
- $15/hour pay with potential for performance-based increases or bonuses.
- Flexible remote schedule that fits your life (with some overlap for calls/emails).
- Real impact in the creator economy—help independent artists reclaim value and distribute music innovatively.
- Portfolio-building experience in music, Web3, and experiential creative work.
- Collaborative, values-driven team that appreciates initiative and ideas.
How to Apply
