The
Americas Distribution Division Communications Manager will lead a team in creating and executing communication strategies and processes that drive the achievement of division and enterprise objectives. You will serve as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, providing innovative and tailored communications solutions that enable success.
This role provides a unique opportunity to lead internal employee communications, as well as communications to Cat® dealers worldwide. For internal communications, the focus will be on developing and implementing strategies to improve internal communication channels, ensuring employees are well-informed, engaged, and connected. For dealer communications, the focus will be on quality and impactful global dealer communications in collaboration with key business partners to ensure alignment of messaging to dealer executive leadership.
Americas Distribution is focused on delivering superior customer experience, profitable market leadership and services growth through industry-best distribution performance. The division provides governance and administration of Cat dealers across North and South America.
What You Will Do
- Developing communication strategies, plans, and deliverables for the Senior Vice President and leadership team
- Responsible for deliverables, including but not limited to speeches, video scripts, presentations, newsletter articles, and internal and dealer meetings
- Manage division communication plans, daily operations and the execution of internal and external messaging
- Partner with Human Resources to build and manage strategies that develop leaders and instill deep understanding of the business
- Own Global Dealer Principal Communications Process, governance and execution .
What Skills You Will Have
- Planning & Project Management: Creating and implementing a strategy for supporting current and future business needs while also leading the execution of the agreed upon timelines. Ensuring stakeholder awareness and approvals are gained appropriately.
- Communicating Complex Concepts: Quickly grasps complex ideas and details with the ability to summarize and simplify in a simple, clear language appropriate to the audience(s).
- Effective Communications: Communicates effectively with diverse audience, internally and externally, develops a deep understanding of global cultures, to ensure messages are clearly written and understood. Has the ability to coach others on methods of improving their own communications.
- Influencing: Leads and presents collaborative proposals that persuasively influence decision makers. Delivers well-received presentations of cost, benefits, risks, and other considerations. Advises on techniques to build rapport and commitment to common purpose. Achieves influence and impact even when holding a position contrary to the majority.
- Initiative: Chooses to go above and beyond what’s expected of the role without being asked. Proceeds without seeking unnecessary permissions while keeping stakeholders properly updated with progress.
- Interpersonal Relationships: Seeks out what's common in conflicting points of view. Establishes, influences and maintains credibility with key individuals inside and outside own group and earns respect at all levels of the organization.
- Communicating & Writing: Creates and develops materials, speeches, presentations, reviews press releases and develops internal and external social media plans. Will play a leading role in defining division and segment specific writing approaches and practices.
- Organizational Communications: Develops organizational communication strategies and policies. Advises others on a wide spectrum of communications programs. Leads in the design and development of multimedia communications campaigns. Champions the use of innovative communications vehicles and practices.
Education And Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing, or related field, or the equivalent in on-the-job experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.

- The primary locations considered for this position are Irving, TX and Peoria, IL
- This position may require 15% travel.

Summary Pay Range
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
