Summary
The Videographer/Photographer position is a highly creative position that is responsible for ensuring that the City’s digital presence is fully maximized. This position will generate videos and photos from short clips to long-form storytelling that convey the City of Temple stories in innovative, authentic, memorable, and captivating ways. Photography and videos will be used on the City’s website, in print publications, advertising, public relations outreach, email communications, across social media platforms, and in other media as needs arise.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serves as the City’s primary videographer and photographer for the creation of all marketing including but not limited to promotional videos, website content and advertising campaigns.
- Responsible for all photographic and video content from start to finish including capturing content and editing for the needs of output.
- Maintains and organizes photography and video assets for reuse in future projects in the digital asset library.
- Manages the digital asset management platform.
- Uses various media including graphics, animations, data visualization, music and voice overs to create professional content.
- Coordinates production activities by selecting the appropriate equipment and materials for the assigned photographic and video projects.
- Designs, transports, sets up, and operates production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions.
- Manages the Government Access Channel schedule and develops new content/programming.
- Works to ensure all photography and videography meets the City's brand guidelines.
- Brainstorms and suggests creative ideas for adding a photo or video component to publications, websites, and other City communications promotional efforts.
- Works with individual departments and divisions as requested to prepare videos that inform, educate and engage our community.
- Maintains and stores all photography and videography gear and equipment.
- Stays well-informed of new trends in videography, photography, and other multi-media areas.
- Assists with operation of multi-camera Council Chambers and video conferencing systems, as needed.
- Serves as staff support for City Council meetings including meeting set-up and technical operations related to the City's Council Chambers audio/visual technology, as needed.
- Assists the Communications & Marketing department with a variety of projects, events, and other support, as needed.
- Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guideline
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to Associate degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communication, or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in marketing, content creation, newsletter writing, digital photography, videography, website design, social media platforms
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe programs including Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, and After Effects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Art, Computer Graphics, Marketing, Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.
- Demonstrated use of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Municipal Government experience.
