This is a paid Apprenticeship, offering $15/hour.

Eligibility Requirements
- Junior, Senior or recent graduate at an accredited college or university
- Located in the state of Iowa
- Available to work 15-20 hours per week, September 7, 2026 - May 22, 2027
- Ability to spend at least 1 day a week on site in our DSM office
- Access to your own housing and transportation to/from the DSM office
About The Team
The Transaction Marketing Creative team is a collaborative group of designers and copywriters who turn strategy into high-impact, performance-driven creative across digital platforms. We lead end-to-end creative and copy for commerce and partnership programs, serving as a trusted strategic partner to the
Transactional team. Our focus is on delivering clear, compelling work that drives engagement, strengthens brand equity, and fuels measurable revenue growth.
About The Role
As a Designer Apprentice in Transactional Marketing Creative at People Inc., you will create visually compelling, digital-first assets to support commerce and partnership programs, including emails, banner ads, social campaigns, and special projects. Working closely with Creative Directors, you will translate strategy into clear, on-brand designs while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Apprentice Responsibilities Will Include
- Support the development of promotional marketing materials for Magazines.com, including onsite banner, newsletter images, and social creative.
- Produce Commerce templates and custom images for upcoming events and in article infographics.
- Assist in refining design concepts that follow best practices. Research trends and competitive creatives to elevate output
About You
Candidates for this role should have:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); familiarity with Figma, Canva, or other design tools is a plus.
- Strong eye for typography, color, layout, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Open to new challenges and excited to grow within a fast-paced, expanding, and constantly evolving organization
- Creative and driven self-starter that can take direction and run with it, asking questions up front to ensure you’re able to complete the task successfully
- Motivated problem solver who will proactively troubleshoot and create solution
- Experience with Google & Microsoft Suites
- Some experience with digital media is a plus but not required
