Duties: The Communications Manager is a full-time, exempt employee of the Green Island Country Club, reporting directly to the Membership Director, and will work in partnership with other Club Directors, managers, and employees. The Director’s primary responsibility will be to lead the development and implementation of the communications and marketing strategy and programs. The Director will oversee all Club Communications, ensuring they represent the Club’s culture and brand. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing short- and long-term strategic brand development, enhancing the Club brand internally and externally through written, digital, and visual communications. The Director is expected to share in the club's long-term strategic vision and contribute to its overall growth from both tactical and strategic perspectives, including day-to-day operations and long-term planning, while driving innovation for the club.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work directly with the Membership Director to define and implement the internal process and organizational structure around the development, review, and distribution of internal and external promotional materials
• Develop, implement, and protect the Green Island brand strategy in accordance with the mission, vision, and values set forth by the Club.
• Brand development and consistency in message, image, training, and social media presence
• The Manager will lead marketing activities that will promote the Green Island Country Club brand.
• Responsible for strategy and tactical execution of Club Marketing efforts, both externally and internally, to maintain acceptable membership levels and budget expectations.
• Responsible for all club public relations efforts, member newsletters, news and media events, use of social media, and club promotional materials
• Establishes and creates print materials for all aspects of the club, including new member and prospective member promotional pieces, menus, and in-house signage
• Manages the Club’s social media presence, messaging, and brand strategy for all social platforms
• Responsible for owning and executing the internal communications calendar
• Interact with the Membership Director and F&B and House Committee to develop long-term communication and brand goals for the Club
• Will be responsible for the development and management of the Membership and Marketing annual budget
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains and enhances the Green Island Country Club Digital strategy to include public and private Websites, Facebook, Twitter, and others.
• Communicates relevant Green Island Country Club news, videos, etc. to social media outlets
• Writes, composes, or edits all Club newsletter articles; collects, organizes, and submits all copy for distribution and production on a timely basis; proofs contents for corrections; and is responsible for the design.
• Collaborates with Department Heads, Committees, Board of Directors, and employees to implement a thorough and consistent strategy to best communicate Club life through all channels, amplifying the Member Story
• Responsible for the promotion of Club activities and special events through designing event flyers, signs, and promotional materials, and circulating event information to the necessary members. Works with department heads to maintain and update website content
• Responsible for the updates and accuracy of the calendar of events and email blasts to members
• Able to respond to calls after hours, weekends, and holidays
• Will be responsible for attending Member Social events
• Personally, meets each Club Member and instills confidence that the Club is operating in the best interest of the Membership
