Role: Vice President of Revenue
Full-Time Employee: 40+ hours
The Vice President of Revenue is a senior executive leader responsible for designing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive revenue strategy across all arms of Branches. This role oversees and integrates four critical departments: Program Identification, Donor Development, Sales, and Marketing, ensuring that each contributes to the long-term financial health and mission alignment of the organization.
Working closely with the President and other senior leaders, the VP of Revenue will balance philanthropic development with earned income strategies, unify messaging and outreach efforts, and drive scalable, sustainable growth. This role requires a dynamic leader who can operate seamlessly across both nonprofit and for-profit models, lead diverse teams, and create strong alignment between revenue-generating activities and organizational impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Team Oversight
- Develop and execute a holistic revenue strategy that integrates philanthropic, earned income, and programmatic growth.
- Collaborate with the President and executive team to align financial goals with the mission and vision of Branches.
- Oversee the strategic direction, coordination, and performance of Program Identification, Donor Development, Sales, and Marketing departments.
- Lead, mentor, and support directors and managers across the four key departments.
- Establish KPIs and accountability systems for each department to measure impact, efficiency, and alignment.
- Create structures for cross-departmental collaboration and communication to ensure unified strategy and messaging.
Program Identification
- Work with the Program Identification team to identify, evaluate, and onboard new high-impact leaders and program partners globally.
- Ensure that programmatic growth aligns with Branches' mission, values, and long-term goals.
Donor Development
- Guide donor acquisition, cultivation, and retention strategies to grow philanthropic revenue.
- Oversee stewardship practices, grant writing, reporting, and relationship management.
- Ensure the team maintains strong relationships with individual donors, foundations, and institutional partners.
Sales & Earned Income
- Lead the strategy for sales of services, products, or programs that generate revenue through Branches’ for-profit initiatives.
- Identify new market opportunities and strategic partnerships that support mission-aligned growth.
Marketing & Communications
- Oversee marketing strategy, branding, and communications to support donor development, program awareness, and sales.
- Ensure consistent messaging that reflects the mission and resonates with diverse audiences across all websites, socials and newsletter communications.
Other Duties
- All other responsibilities as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Experience
- 7+ years of senior leadership experience in revenue-generating roles across nonprofit, for-profit, or hybrid organizations.
- Proven track record in leading fundraising, business development, and marketing teams.
- Experience in building and scaling sales functions and earned income strategies.
- Strong marketing acumen, including brand development, digital strategy, and audience engagement.
- Excellent team leadership and cross-functional management skills.
- Strong communicator with the ability to inspire, align, and lead diverse teams.
