Are you the one we are looking for?
You would be passionate about serving others excellently, both over the phone and through email. With very little supervision, you anticipate needs, take action, and aim to solve client questions & requests on first contact. As a property & casualty insurance licensed individual, you can answer coverage questions. You're organized and know the art of building relationships with teammates, clients, and insurance partners. Using your impeccable communication skills and work ethic, you would apply critical thinking skills, work independently, show empathy, and care about the people & mission we serve.
When you join us, we expect you to:
- Provide responsive customer service via calls and emails, resolving inquiries on first contact if possible or escalating to other team members when necessary.
- Research and present answers to client questions about their policies and coverage.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on carrier products, guidelines, underwriting, and legislative changes in order to make effective recommendations to clients.
- Initiate or respond to situations involving invoicing and billing.
- Issue certificates of insurance and auto ID cards, including endorsements necessary for compliance.
- Process and submit policy change requests to the appropriate carrier.
- Properly handle any other documents generated from the insurance carrier or requests within delegated authority.
- Assist with the onboarding of new clients.
- Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and guidelines, including documentation in the agency management system as requested by management.
- Participate in special projects or functions as assigned (e.g. e-Newsletter, seminars, occasional account visitation, special mailings)
- Manage, submit, and follow-up with claims throughout the claims process, as directed by management.
- Assist in monitoring accounts & collaborating with underwriting to ensure book of business is both profitable and fair to all parties.
- Provide back-up support for other team members
- Participate in weekly service team meetings, continuing education courses, and other training opportunities provided by the agency.
What you’ll bring to our team:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills and aptitude for learning new technology (agency management system, carrier rating platforms, etc)
- Positive attitude, good active listening skills and empathy.
- Highly-organized and detailed, with solid time management skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy
- Works with integrity and a high level of confidentiality
- Effective handling of stress, customer complaints, and constructive criticism.
- Experience using effective questioning and being able to lead/control a conversation
- Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
