The Newsette is looking for a Branded Content Associate to join our team. While our company HQ is in New York City, employees have the option to work remotely. Being based in the NYC area is not a requirement for this position.

About this job:
Branded Content is the backbone of our revenue at The Newsette, and the buzzy, relatable copy in that branded content is what gives it its magic. In order to deliver winning content for our brand partners, we need to create copy and social assets that both align with our brand voice and values and tell a story about the products and services we’re highlighting. That’s where the Branded Content Associate comes in.
The Branded Content Associate will report to the Head of Integrated Marketing to:
- Conceptualize and write native and branded content for campaigns running across owned channels that generate engagement, clicks, and deliver on client KPIs while staying true to The Newsette’s brand tone and voice
- Conduct, write and edit interviews with feature subjects for branded content
- Attend and participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions for RFPs and proactive pitches, assisting Marketing with thought starter ideas for pitches and sales materials
- Own and manage delivery process of all branded copy and social requests, ensuring internal stakeholders are complying with client timelines and sales deadlines
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Editorial to incorporate client feedback on edits and revisions in a timely manner, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders
- Assist in strategy and creative direction for all custom branded content deliverables including but not limited to: design, social, video, digital, scripting, and beyond
- Communicate, manage, and organize all design requests for brand campaigns, ensuring designers/vendors have all necessary copy and context to complete visual assets
- Research and share branded and social content trends applicable to The Newsette
- Work with Social Media Editor to conceptualize both native and built-if-sold branded franchises when needed
- Write social copy for branded content when needed, working closely with the Social Media Editor to ensure brand consistency
- Consult on social media strategy for all branded content, sourcing reposts and posting them according to the social schedule
- Be trained on Mailchimp to mockup all branded content and update with client feedback in the CMS
- Act as liaison with Editorial and Marketing/Sales to coordinate and manage inventory calendar, editorial schedule, upcoming feature and content planning, advertiser content exclusivities, etc. during weekly meetings
- Assist Marketing in analyzing performance of all branded placements and developing an evolving content strategy for maximum engagement for all clients
About you:
You’re an excellent writer, first and foremost. You’re witty and resourceful, and you possess the ability to editorialize any brand within a relevant and engaging narrative, while adhering to the signature voice, style and tone of The Newsette. You believe in our mission, have fresh ideas, and are excited to implement them on a nimble platform. You love collaborating with a team but can also thrive working independently. You want to work in a growing start-up environment and help build something huge with us. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about storytelling, but who also understands how the business of media affects content creation.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of editorial or branded content creation experience in digital media or another fast-paced industry (female-focused media or brands are a big plus!) - we ask that all candidates for this role submit a writing sample that reflects their best work
- Experience working (directly or indirectly) with clients on content creation, revisions, and approvals, and the ability to revise your work quickly to accommodate client feedback
- Fluency in social media; you understand and are passionate about social media language and trends, as the ability to translate branded content for social audiences is critical to success in this role
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage various projects/deliverables against quick deadlines and turnarounds
- A passion and enthusiasm for creative thinking, and are excited to contribute strong, out-of-the-box content ideas for the team
- You're an ambitious self-starter who is excited about the evolving digital landscape
- You're a team player, kind, and bring a positive attitude to every interaction
- While not required, these additional skills and experience are certainly a plus: Video editing for social media formats, experience interfacing directly with clients on calls and over email, experience with MailChimp, and familiarity with and enthusiasm for The Newsette brand - we love when our subscribers join the team!

Compensation:
Base Range: $57,000 to $75,000 USD
Compensation is based on several non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills, and location. In addition to salary, Newsette Media Group offers incentive units and a competitive benefits package which can be reviewed in our Newsperks section above..
