Communications & Social Media Intern Job Description
Summer Internship, May/June – August 2026
The Communications & Social Media Intern supports the growth and development of the communications and marketing team through assistance in writing, organizing, and distributing content on digital media platforms and in LDP’s newsletter. The individual will also help with the creation and the development of marketing campaigns and communication strategies. This internship is for 20 hours a week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support with the creation and execution of social media content for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, TikTok, and other platforms.
- Assist with photo/video content and help to create and edit short-form videos.
- Create social media captions that speak to our audience and ensure messaging is consistent.
- Respond to comments and direct messages on social media platforms.
- Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns.
- Research ideas for original content and develop new strategies for increasing engagement.
- Assist with the creation and distribution of digital email blasts, newsletters, and alerts on social media and traditional news outlets.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience with social media, communications, public relations, or other related areas or fields.
