Trade Marketing Technician, National & International
to support the implementation of trade marketing strategy across Spain and international markets. This role will help drive product visibility, rotation, and in-store execution across distribution channels, while contributing to a scalable and measurable trade marketing function.
About the role
You will work closely with the Commercial, Marketing, Editorial, and International Commerce teams to ensure trade initiatives are properly planned, executed, and monitored. In the international scope, you will support the definition and rollout of the operating model, governance, and collaboration framework with subsidiaries and distributors.
This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong organizational skills with analytical thinking, a practical mindset, and a clear focus on results.
Main responsibilities
- Implement trade marketing plans by channel and customer type, managing priorities, timelines, and activation criteria at point of sale.
- Support the international commerce team and local marketing teams in trade-related initiatives.
- Coordinate trade marketing materials and tools such as monthly newsletters, specific activations, and promotional assets, ensuring brand consistency and effective deployment at point of sale.
- Act as a link between Marketing, Sales, and Publishing teams to facilitate the correct execution of trade actions.
- Monitor performance, execution, impact, and results, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Analyze market benchmarks and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation in trade marketing.
- Support the digitalization of trade processes, tools, reporting, and databases.
Spain-focused responsibilities
- Manage the calendar of trade campaigns and actions in Spain, with special focus on the Commercial Newsletter tool.
- Handle issues related to promotional materials and trade assets.
- Follow up commercial actions from concept development through in-store implementation.
- Manage trade marketing suppliers and related budgets.
- Support the implementation of books and labels distributed in Spain, as well as specific trade actions such as bookstore roadshows.
International responsibilities
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the operational, governance, and collaboration model with international subsidiaries and distributors.
- Coordinate, follow up, analyze, and report on trade marketing actions with international partners.
- Adapt a portfolio of campaigns for regional use, tailoring them to each market’s needs.
- Provide operational support for international fairs and events such as LIBER and the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Profile requirements
- University degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- A master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in trade marketing or international trade marketing is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in trade marketing, channel marketing, or commercial roles in international environments, ideally in publishing, cultural distribution.
- Advanced English, essential for working with subsidiaries, distributors, and international events.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
