POSITION DESCRIPTION
BendFilm is hiring a part-time Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support a wide variety of digital communications, marketing communications, and design projects. Working closely with the Managing Directors, this position will lead the development and evolution of the organization’s brand and digital presence, including originating new campaigns, formats, and storytelling approaches, defining and refining BendFilm’s voice across platforms, and driving attendance and engagement across BendFilm’s various programs. This person should feel comfortable with all digital technology and have the ability to produce content, adapt quickly, and communicate effectively—internally and externally. This role requires strong creative judgement and the ability to translate ideas into clear, compelling content across formats.
RESPONSIBILITIES / SCOPE OF WORK
• Attend weekly meetings for collaboration on various projects
• Manage BendFilm’s weekly newsletter through mailchimp
• Develop and own the social media strategy, timing, assets, and management
• Lead the execution of the Festival Creative rollout, including visuals, messaging, and campaigns
• Creation of a BendFilm style guide
• Add events to community calendars
• Track success of mission-aligned marketing strategy and campaigns
• Use tools like Canva, Adobe, Slack, Google Workspace
• Generate original campaign ideas tied to key programs and revenue goals

- Oversee management of the BendFilm website on wordpress

- Develop the narrative framing and rollout strategy for film announcements; all films announced by early September
- Weekly Instagram story posts & reposts as appropriate
- Weekly to monthly Facebook posts
- Monitor comments and DMs across social platforms
- Weekly newsletter and associated asset creation using templated design
- Meet with team to collaborate on content and direction
- Edit, proof, and distribute newsletters via Mailchimp
- Oversee management of the BendFilm website on wordpress
- Collaborate on the Festival Guide with Designer/Project Manager
- Create Festival Sponsor looping slide reel to play before each Festival film
- Design, proofing, and title-safe export of slides for pre-show
- Create Awards Ceremony slide content
- Design, updates/coordination, and proofing
- Print and digital marketing asset distribution
- Festival laurels, panel signage, etc.
- Coordinate Festival Photographers and Videographer(s)
- On board creative team, create shot list spreadsheet, make drive folders for photos, conduct team meeting prior to Festival

Deliverables:
- Content planning, creation of social media assets, management of a social media manager, and proofing social media posts
- Daily Instagram grid posts (Venue announcements begin early-October)
- Basecamp: 5 days of Instagram stories; approximately 30 images plus recap post or reel (content captured by on-site team)
- Festival coverage: 5 days of twice daily posting; approximately 10 posts & 60 images; stories and re-posts as appropriate; extra-attentive monitoring of comments and DMs
- Awards Ceremony: Live coverage of the event via Instagram stories; approximately 4 posts & images covering winning films and awards event
- Daily Instagram story posts (throughout Festival)
- Daily Facebook posts (throughout Festival)
- Monitor comments and DMs across social platforms
- Weekly newsletter and associated asset creation using templated design
- Meet with team to collaborate on content and direction
