Your role will be to own the technical side of growth, building and optimizing the pages, funnels, and experiences that drive subscriber acquisition, event registration, and sponsor engagement.
About the Role
We're seeking a hands-on UX Design and Development Engineer to own the intersection of engineering and design for our customer-facing media websites that are leading niche websites in their sectors seeing over 4M pageviews per month.
You'll own pages and features from rough ideas through shipped polish and measured outcome. You're equally comfortable opening Figma to sketch a layout or opening your editor to prototype an interaction in code — and you know which to reach for first. You read PostHog data without being asked to, and your instinct after shipping is to check whether the metric moved.
Key Responsibilities
- Landing Pages & Conversion. Design and build high-performing landing pages, registration flows, and lead capture experiences using modern front-end tools (Next.js, React, or similar).
- Experimentation. Own the A/B testing program, from hypothesis generation through implementation and analysis. Build a culture of continuous experimentation across digital touchpoints.
- Analytics & Instrumentation. Implement event tracking, conversion pixels, and analytics infrastructure to ensure clean attribution and actionable reporting across marketing channels.
- Performance Optimization. Monitor and improve site speed, Core Web Vitals, and UX performance metrics that impact SEO, GEO and conversion rates.
- Design Implementation. Create and implement designs in Figma (Claude Design, etc) into working experiments against production traffic
- AI-Enabled Workflows. Prototype and deploy practical AI use cases (personalization, dynamic content, chatbots) to improve engagement and conversion.
- Cross-Department Collaboration. Partner with marketing, events, and sales leaders to understand growth priorities and translate them into testable experiments and optimized experiences.
- Support our agile culture. Participate in sprints, standups, and shared decision-making on prioritization and technical approach
You'll Be Successful If (in 12 Months):
- Key conversion rates (newsletter signup, event registration, content downloads) have improved measurably through systematic testing.
- Landing page creation is fast and repeatable, with a library of proven templates and components.
- Analytics instrumentation is clean, consistent, and trusted across marketing and sales teams.
- A regular experimentation cadence is established with documented learnings and wins.
- Site performance scores meet or exceed industry benchmarks.
- Marketing and events teams can request and receive optimized pages quickly without bottlenecks.
- Regular reporting to leadership on increases in conversion, adoption and engagement metrics
Qualifications
Required:
- 2–5 years building production web applications or marketing sites
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript; deep working knowledge of modern CSS (Grid, Flexbox, custom properties, container queries)
- Comfort working in Figma to ideate, not just consume — can build out a flow or layout from scratch
- Demonstrable visual design sense: typography, spacing, hierarchy, color
- Experience with a CMS (WordPress, Contentful, Sanity, etc.)
- Strong written communication; comfortable presenting and defending design and data choices
Preferred:
- React in production
- WordPress development experience — custom themes, Gutenberg blocks, ACF, REST/GraphQL APIs
- WP VIP experience specifically
- PostHog (or comparable: Parse.ly, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap) for product analytics, experimentation, session replay
- Hands-on with Claude Code, Claude for design ideation, or other AI tooling in your daily workflow
- Track record of website growth work — conversion optimization, SEO, A/B testing, landing-page experiments
- Web-based Animation experience (Framer Motion, CSS animations, GSAP)
