ABOUT THE ROLE
Elverhøj Museum of History and Art is seeking a highly organized, proactive Operations & Communication Manager to support the Museum’s daily operations, constituent engagement, and community presence. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys managing multiple projects, and is passionate about history, the arts, culture, and community connection.
SCHEDULE
25-30 hours/week. Flexible, primarily on-site but with hybrid work opportunities. Occasional weekends and after-hours required for events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal and External Communications
● Coordinate and produce email communications including Museum’s monthly newsletter, event announcements and reminders, and other important Museum communications through MailChimp
● Assist with the creation of event promotional materials and social media graphics using Canva, as needed
● Update and maintain the Museum website
● Oversee bulk mailings for events, annual appeals, and membership outreach
● Track, coordinate, and follow up on Museum membership renewals and reminders using donor software (Little Green Light)
● Maintain the organizational calendar for the Museum
● Create all staff communications with updates and important information
● Communicate via phone and in person with Museum constituents regarding events and assist with questions, concerns, and technical issues.
Events
● Assist the Executive Director in planning and executing events
● Manage and maintain event software including event website, sponsorships, ticketing, and item donations
● Assist with securing auction items from local and regional businesses
● Plan volunteer opportunities. Recruit and coordinate volunteers
● Provide event onsite management and coordination for large-scale events including but not limited to set-up, vendor and volunteer relations, guest check-in and check-out, and cleanup
Community Engagement and Tours
● Facilitate Museum tour requests: scheduling, staffing, communication, preparation, and payment processing
● Help develop and implement projects that strengthen Museum messaging and community outreach
Museum Store
● Oversee purchasing for the Museum gift store
● Manage inventory and merchandising including event ticketing and gallery sales.
● Coordinate seasonal changes of inventory on the store floor
● Manage and delegate tasks to fulfil orders from online sales
● Produce monthly sales report including admissions, store sales, gallery sales, and consignments.
Administration
● Coordinate internal projects to improve efficiency, such as workspace and office organization as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
● High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
● Ability to work independently and manage projects across multiple timelines
● Comfortable leading and coordinating volunteers
● Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
● Proficient in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new software systems
● Ability to lift 25 pounds
● Knowledge of software platforms including Little Green Light, Greater Giving, Mail Chimp, Square Point of Sale, and WordPress a plus.
COMPENSATION
$27–$30/hour (commensurate with experience)
