Position and Responsibilities:
Program Managers/Senior Program Managers design, develop, execute, and evaluate projects that contribute to the ongoing successes of BVGH’s programs. Program Managers/Senior Program Managers ensure efficient workflow and effective communication with diverse external partners and stakeholders through high-quality written materials. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and competencies in global health, lead projects and other activities from ideation to completion, and hone your communication skills across international partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage a diverse group of external partners and stakeholders, including domestic and international healthcare leaders, researchers, government officials, and other subject matter experts in a professional and culturally mindful manner.
- Anticipate and proactively respond to partners’ needs across; training; R&D; health education and awareness; access to medicines and technologies; communications and visibility; and more.
- Coordinate medicines access activities for LMIC hospitals and governments, including calculating budgets based on forecasted needs; engaging medicines manufacturers; facilitating direct purchase agreements; collecting documentation needed by customs officials; organizing shipping logistics; tracking shipments from port to patient; and monitoring usage in collaboration with hospital pharmacy teams.
- Design, develop, and execute high-impact training programs (digital and in-person) aligned with partners’ healthcare and R&D capacity building priorities, including securing trainers; setting training topics and learning objectives; organizing program logistics; engaging trainees; moderating lectures; evaluating outcomes; and reporting impacts.
· Coordinate R&D collaborations among partners with complementary interests, needs, and resources, including facilitating relationship development and mapping of milestones, timelines, budgets, key performance indicators, roles, and responsibilities; providing end-to-end alliance management support; and monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on collaboration outcomes and impacts.
- Support LMIC partners in securing external funding for BVGH-coordinated R&D collaborations by searching for relevant funding opportunities; identifying collaborators to enhance application competitiveness; proofreading proposals; etc.
- Coordinate development and dissemination of accurate, culturally appropriate health education and awareness materials for LMIC communities and healthcare providers.
- Develop high-quality written materials for diverse audiences (e.g., United States Congress; United Nations agencies; mainstream media; employees at partner organizations; funding agencies) to expand BVGH and partner visibility, and engage new partners and funders. Materials may include but are not limited to project proposals and reports; grant applications; newsletter stories; blogs; scientific and feature articles; conference abstracts; meeting minutes; emails; PowerPoint presentations; and more.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree and minimum 5 years of relevant work experience post-graduation required (5-10 years preferred).
- Strong sense of professionalism, initiative, personal responsibility, and accountability.
- Outstanding writing and editing skills, coupled with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and can change rapidly.
- Positive, “can do” attitude, and a strong desire to be helpful and work hard to build a successful global health organization.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Enjoy working in an organization with limited resources where everyone needs to wear all hats and do whatever needs to be done, including taking out the garbage, when necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Experience developing written materials for various audiences preferred, including internal and external communications, annual reports, brochures, blogs, posters, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Nice to Have:
· Advanced degree, preferably in the biological sciences.
· Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop).
· Experience using PubMed and reading and understanding scientific literature.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Base compensation begins at $70,000 for full-time employment and is determined based on experience.
- Full-time position.
