Job Summary
The Web and Digital Communications Coordinator helps shape Dalton State College's online presence and brand identity and supports the college's communications strategies by contributing content for the website, social media, newsletters, photography, and video storytelling. This position is responsible for creating, updating, and managing Dalton State's website to ensure it remains accurate, engaging, user-friendly, and reflective of the college's mission.
This is an on-site position based in our Dalton, GA Campus.

Responsibilities
Front-end website management - 40%
- Oversees the design, functionality, and content updates of the Dalton State website, ensuring accurate, accessible, and engaging content
- Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administration to keep web pages current and aligned with Dalton State priorities.
- Monitors site performance, analytics, and SEO to improve visibility and user experience
- Ensures compliance with accessibility standards and institution brand/style guidelines
- Provides basic training and support to Dalton State website contributors and communications platforms
Content Creation & Communications - 35%
- Writes and edits web, social, and newsletter content tailored to target audiences
- Captures and edits photography and video to highlight Dalton State events, faculty, student success stories, and athletics
- Assists with developing news releases, website features, and marketing collateral as needed
- Serves as a communications resource to faculty and staff, helping promote college programs, events and news through compelling digital storie
Social Media and Digital Engagement - 25%
- Supports Dalton State social media accounts with engaging posts, campaigns, and multimedia
- Monitors analytics and audience trends to refine strategies and grow engagement
- Assists with event promotion and coverage through pre-event posts, live posting, photography, and/or video
- Supports maintenance of a digital asset library (photos, graphics, video clips, and templates)
- Performs other communications-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
- Experience writing communications content for tailored audiences
- Two years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education of relevant experience, preferably in higher education or a similarly complex organization
- Photography and videography experience
- Adobe Creative Suite
Abilities

- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in planning, creating and measuring effective social media content
- Ability to create and tailor visual and written content to target audiences.
- Ability to develop and assess web content in compliance with Section 508/WCAG 2.1 web accessibility requirements
- Ability to collaborate with and train non-technical content managers
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgement, time management, project management, and presentation skills.
- An innovative mindset, and the ability to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Meta Business Suite or comparable social media content management systems
- Knowledge of Google SEO, Analytics, Tag Manager
