COLORADO LATINO LEADERSHIP, ADVOCACY & RESEARCH ORGANIZATION
The Colorado Latino Leadership, Advocacy & Research Organization (CLLARO) seeks the best and brightest Business Development Director to lead our fundraising initiatives and help Latinos in Colorado identify and promote Latino research, public policy, leadership representation and equity objectives. CLLARO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Our mission is to empower Latinos in Colorado through leadership, advocacy, and policy research.
Position Description Summary:
The Business Development Director will support the full implementation of the annual fund development plan with individual donors, foundations, corporations, including federal and state government opportunities. Write funding proposals and corresponding reports, plus strategic communications messaging and other duties as assigned.
Areas of Responsibility:
· Strategy and Leadership - Create overall fundraising strategy and annual development plan: Work with the Board/Dev Committee and CEO to execute strategy and plan.
· Donor Cultivation, Stewardship and Solicitation - Manage a portfolio of major donors including individuals, foundation, and corporations; Create and execute customized cultivation, stewardship and solicitation plans; Use CRM to track all donor engagement and moves management. Develop basic administrative systems and structures for fundraising implementation.
· Grants - Manage grants calendar; Prepare and submit grant proposals and reports; Research grant opportunities. Develop the research grants capacity with multiple partner university and public, private members to harness the intellectual capital of Latino faculty across the state and enable, coordinate, and generate a “research ecosystem” for revenue generation to the organization.
· Event Management and Sponsorship Solicitation - Oversee the planning and execution of annual event (Bernie Valdez Awards) including sponsorship cultivation and solicitation.
· Data and Gift tracking - Ensure all gifts are tracked in CRM and acknowledged in a timely manner including letters, phone calls, etc. Utilize data and reports to inform priorities, identify trends and opportunities. Maintain organized digital and physical funding records.
· Marketing & Communications - Oversee, draft, and distribute by social media and via CLLARO’s monthly newsletter, and/or electronic means, action alerts and updates to inform the funding community on CLLARO’s accomplishments.
Qualifications:
• B.A. and minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in fund development.
• Knowledgeable about Colorado’s philanthropic community and state policy.
• Knowledge of fundraising vehicles and experience in implementing a variety of development strategies with a demonstrated history of managing fundraising programs. Familiarity with online donor management systems.
• Experience in successfully writing and preparing grant proposals and reports.
• Experience in cultivating and stewarding foundation and corporate relationships and donors.
• Honesty, integrity, reliability, loyalty to CLLARO’s organizational mission, and ability to collaborate and work well with others are required. Must be able to operate independently.
• Bilingual. Spanish language fluency is preferred.
• Background in Marketing and ability to develop social media messaging. Proficiency in Zoom and Virtual Video Platforms, Facebook live streaming, twitter, Instagram, Google Drive, PowerPoint. Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to tailor messages to a variety of audiences.
Terms:
This is a full-time at-will position based in the Denver Metro Area. The annual salary range is $70,000-$100,000 depending upon experience. The benefits package includes health insurance and paid time off.
