Content Coordinator & Community Manager
Studio 1651 — the in-house media team behind OWN Real Estate Millbrae, CA · Hybrid · Full-time
We're the team behind @bayareawilson. 21 short-form posts a week. 2 long-form YouTube videos. A weekly newsletter. A market report series. A 20-agent brokerage doing $200M+ a year that runs more like a creator studio than a real estate office.
We're hiring a producer to run content coordination and community — the person who keeps the engine moving and grows the audience around it.
"I've spent the last few years turning a real estate team into something that runs like a media company. The next person we hire is the one who makes that the obvious choice. If you love the craft of short-form, long-form, the rhythm of a content calendar, and the idea of building a community around a brand — read on." — Wilson
What you'd actually do
You're the producer. The calendar lives with you. The DMs live with you. The "did this go up on time" question lives with you.
Coordination (most of the job):
- Own the content calendar across IG, YouTube, and TikTok end-to-end
- Schedule and post directly to @bayareawilson — captions, thumbnails, titles, hashtags, the whole publishing layer
- Cross-post and adapt content for our 20 agents' personal accounts
- Keep us hitting 21 short-form + 2 long-form per week, every week
- Track weekly analytics — what worked, what didn't, what to do more of
Community:
- Reply to every DM and comment, in the right voice for the platform (Wilson's voice on @bayareawilson, more polished on team accounts)
- Filter inbound — when a DM is a real lead, route it to Wilson or the right agent fast
- Run polls, Q&As, giveaways — the things that turn followers into community
- Build and maintain a CRM of warm followers (the people we should remember)
On camera (lean yes):
- This isn't a hard requirement, but it's a strong preference. We post a lot. Wilson can't be in everything.
- Host a recurring segment or series of your own
- Voiceovers and narration for short-form
- Solo "person on the street" interviews around the Bay
- B-roll, behind-the-scenes, "team energy" presence
If on-camera scares you, this isn't the job. If it interests you but you've never done it, that's fine — we'll build into it.
What this role is NOT
- Not a researcher or long-form writer (we have other systems)
- Not a video editor (Videographer shoots and edits)
- Not a real estate admin job — you don't need to know what a CMA is on day one
Who we're looking for
We're hiring on personality, taste, and reel — not resume.
Must-haves:
- Strong taste in short-form. You know what's trending and, more importantly, why something works.
- Project manager brain. You can hold a calendar, hit deadlines, and not lose track of 40 things at once.
- Bay Area native or deeply local. You can pick up a reference to Daly City fog, Mitchell's Ice Cream, or the Devil's Slide tunnel without Googling.
- High energy and fun in person. A lot of this job is keeping the content culture of a 20-person team alive.
- Self-directed. We hand you the keys. You drive.
- Excited about AI tools, not scared of them. You don't need to be an expert in any specific tool — you need to be the kind of person who hears about a new tool and wants to try it that day.
Nice-to-haves:
- Your own creator account (any size)
- Prior experience running social for another brand or creator
- Comfort being on camera
Comp & structure
- Full-time
- Lead bonus tied to deals sourced from social
- Trial period first (paid). PTO, health, dental, and 401k kick in after.
- Hybrid out of our Millbrae office (1651 El Camino Real)
- Reports directly to Wilson Leung, founder
- Path to lead a small content pod — Dmytro, our videographer/editor, would eventually report to you
- Open to applicants outside the Bay Area, but Bay Area heavily preferred
Tools you'll get to use
We invest heavily in the stack. You'll work with:
- Claude — for writing, brainstorming, ideation, almost everything
- Gemini — research and longer context work
- VidIQ — YouTube strategy and analytics
- Higgsfield — AI video generation
- Canva — design, thumbnails, graphics
- Replit — internal tools we build for ourselves
- Google Workspace — the basics
- Youtube Studio
- Meta Studio
- beehiiv
If you're already using these, great. If you're not, the bigger signal is whether you'd be excited to learn them.
How to apply
Send to careers@theownteam.com:
- A short note on why this role
- A link to your work — a brand you've run, your own account, a portfolio, anything that shows your taste
- One short-form post in the wild (not yours) that you think is great, and one sentence on why
- Your AI workflow — what tools you currently use (work or personal), and one example of how AI has actually changed how you do something. Two or three sentences is enough.
- Optional but encouraged: a 60-second selfie video telling us who you are
