ABOUT THE ROLE
People Function is looking for a sharp, creative, and tech-forward Social Media & Content Manager to own our entire content operation. Reporting to our CEO and Founder, this is a rare full-stack role: you will set strategy with our CEO & VP of Ops, direct creative, write copy, manage production, build brand partnerships, and use AI tools to do it all at a level that would normally take a team of three.
You are not just comfortable with AI – you are obsessive about it. You have a working knowledge of the latest tools and you build systems around them. You understand that automating the repeatable parts of content creation is what makes space for genuinely great work.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
Social Strategy & Creative Direction
- Develop and execute platform-specific content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, maintaining 5+ posts/week with consistent cadence and repeatable content pillars
- Lead weekly strategy syncs to review performance, align on priorities, and flag capacity risks
- Translate business priorities into tone, format, and content direction across platforms
Content Production & Publishing
- Manage the full content lifecycle from ideation to publishing — attending and directing weekly filming sessions, editing video, writing captions, and maintaining a 95%+ on-time publishing rate
- Maintain the social and filming tracker, logging all published posts with direct links
- Own end-to-end production quality across Instagram and TikTok, maintaining a 95%+ on-time publishing rate
AI-Powered Automation & Tooling
- Build and maintain AI-assisted workflows (Claude, Gemini, Opus Clip, CapCut AI, Descript) for ideation, scripting, captioning, and scheduling to accelerate production
- Identify and eliminate manual, repetitive tasks across the content workflow through automation
- Document SOPs and maintain a living AI toolkit to ensure scalable, resilient processes
Copy & Long-Form Content
- Own the monthly social media deck and weekly People Function newsletter (The PFunc Pulse on Beehiiv), with drafts due Fridays and distribution on Tuesdays
- Write LinkedIn post copy with visuals and submit the following week's content each Friday
- Develop and organize content calendar concepts across all written and scripted formats
Engagement & Community
- Design and execute a consistent engagement system across Instagram and TikTok, including recurring Story formats and weekly activity
- Drive meaningful engagement (comments, conversations, shares or saves) over passive metrics through tactical recommendations
- Advise on and manage new distribution channels, such as broadcast channels
Brand Partnerships & Sponsorships
- Execute on People Function's brand partner value proposition and align Instagram, TikTok, and newsletter into a cohesive sponsorship offering
- Collaborate with the CEO & VP of Ops to build and maintain a prioritized pipeline of target brand partners, coordinating organic content with authentic integration tactics
- Inform deal structure and brand integration strategy; not responsible for contracts or accounting
Reporting & Performance
- Track performance metrics across all platforms (views, engagement, reach, follower growth, trends)
- Present monthly insights including what performed well, key learnings, and opportunities for experimentation
- Use data to evolve content strategy and inform creative decisions on an ongoing basis
WHO YOU ARE
- 3–5 years of experience in social media management, content strategy, or a closely related field
- A genuine power user of AI tools with a track record of building systems and workflows around them
- Strong video editing skills and comfort directing on-camera talent
- Excellent writer with an ear for brand voice, able to shift tone across platforms and formats
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-managing – you own your work from ideation to analytics
- Experience with brand partnerships, sponsorships, or influencer strategy is a strong plus
- Familiarity with the HR, people ops, or B2B professional space is a bonus, not a requirement
- Proactive communicator who flags risks early and brings solutions, not just problems
IMPACT
- Increase in follower growth rate month-over-month across all platforms
- $50,000 in revenue from social media and newsletter campaigns
- Number of inbound leads, partnership inquiries, or speaking requests per month attributable to content
- The PFunc Pulse grows its open and click-through rates quarter over quarter, with replies and engagement signaling a genuinely connected readership
- AI workflows that you've built are measurably reducing production time without sacrificing quality
TOOLS YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’re expected to bring fluency in or a strong ability to quickly adopt tools including:
- AI platforms for content & copy
- Video editing tools potentially including CapCut, Descript, Premiere, or equivalent with AI features
- Newsletter tool: Beehiiv
- Social management tools potentially including Buffer, Later, Planoly, or similar scheduling platforms
- Project management: Notion
- Analytics: Native platform dashboards (Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics) and any third-party tools
COMPENSATION - The compensation range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 per year.
