The Covington News is seeking its next News Editor
A recent internal promotion has The Covington News seeking its next News Editor immediately.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in storytelling and all things news-related. From county and city government, to crime, to feel-good feature stories; this person will be a jack of all trades for community journalism.
The ideal candidate will have the chance to help shape news coverage in Newton County from writing, to layout, to social media and even long-term strategic goals for the news section of the paper. He or she will also have the chance to help/mentor freelance reporters who will help make the paper’s coverage complete.

We are a twice-weekly print newspaper that also prioritizes news coverage on social media and our digital platforms 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We’re located in the heart of the booming southeast Atlanta community of Covington, Georgia.
