You need to have outstanding customer service skills, an eye for details, comfort with technology and have an incredible entrepreneurial spirit. Worked on cruise ships before? Great. If not, but you’re a closer, we’ll teach you working and living on ships.

By the way, you can do this with your partner -and we’re the ability to speak multiple languages (particularly Italian, French, Spanish and German) is a huge plus.

Primary Responsibilities
Gallery Oversight
- Manage the appearance of the art gallery and art displays throughout ship
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory and have a complete understanding of all respective pricing structures.
- Receive and offload all art and prepare for delivery
- Complete all required shipboard and shore-side documentation
- Run the onboard art printing program (make prints onboard)
Sales
- Oversee all sales and activities related to art onboard
- Constantly learn and improve professional selling skills in order to effectively market the art program
- Collaborate with other onboard departments to create cross-promotions
- Actively promote the art program with exhibitions, presentations and other marketing tools
- Report sales information, after each cruise, to cruise line shore side management and ArtWave management
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including:
- sales calls, presentations
- closed sales
- follow-up activities
- Motivated by weekly targets and sales
- Auction art at live events – we’ll train you how
Management
- Manage a team of part-time art assistants, with a collaborative and team-focused approach
- Train and work with art assistants to present professional art events
- Confident to network with other shipboard staff and passengers
Customer Service
- Be an ambassador for ArtWave with courtesy, respect, professionalism and integrity at all times.
- Liaise with visiting world-renowned artists
- Interact with cruise guests and build a professional rapport with them
- Liaise with ArtWave management for all onboard marketing including stateroom television, the daily newsletter, flyers, social media, etc.
Additional Duties
- All maritime required duties including Crew Drills, Passenger Drills and In-Port Manning (subject to the Cruise Line’s discretion)
- Abide by all ship rules including the Privilege Grid, which is subject to change at the discretion of the Cruise Line
- Shipboard management may require other job-related duties in conjunction with the above
