This position is non-exempt and follows a hybrid work model on a 35-hour work week schedule.
The Proofreader assists in the completion of the Department’s work and projects in
a timely manner. Proofreads and fact checks print and electronic publications, correspondence,
presentations, forms, and other materials generated for NABP’s programs and services. Cross-trained to assist the proofreader and the communications coordinator.
Program Coordination
- Proofs and fact checks documents, letters, memos, and presentations for all NABP departments to ensure that all outgoing documents adhere to NABP and AMA style, and are error-free and professional.
- Proofs and fact checks articles for the NABP Newsletter.
- Proofs state newsletters.
- Proofs and fact checks meeting proceedings, annual and fall meeting materials, public relations pieces, examination bulletins, and other NABP publications to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Assists with maintaining and updating the NABP Style Guide.
- Proofs and fact checks electronic publications (NABP e-News, AWARxE Prescription Drug Safety News, .Pharmacy News, and State News Roundup.)
General Responsibilities
- Cross-trained to assist with creating certificates for accreditation, task forces, and other programs/meetings as needed.
- Assists with administrative tasks as assigned.
- Implements Association policy as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Art degree in journalism, communications, or English required.
- 2-5 years of proofreading experience and basic computer knowledge.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Internet skills, familiarity with desktop and electronic publishing desirable.
