Job Description:
As The Venue Report Senior Editor of Social & Content you have a passion for storytelling, content and an effortless ability to tell stories about gatherings, celebrations, travel, culture and human connection. You are an excellent writer who is able to craft both long format articles and short, attention-grabbing social media one liners. You have an excellent eye for photo selection and are able to tailor the image selection appropriately for each social platform. You will be responsible for translating The Venue Report voice across social media and online articles. You know what makes a pun work and have a friendly inclusive voice for users.
- Lead the quarterly brainstorm meetings and implement the editorial content for social media channels and online magazine
- Pitch unique story ideas, stay on top of seasonal trends and identify opportunities to work with key brands, influencers, hotels and venues in unique ways
- Conceptualize and assign TVR magazine articles using SEO data delivered from the digital team
- Create an editorial calendar optimized for cross-platform channels and manage the calendar end to end with both external freelance writers and the internal team
- Assign editorials to freelance writers, deliver feedback and ensure the editorials are copy ready. Upload the editorials along with relevant photos to the magazine for online publication.
- Strong ability to choose images for all social platforms along with catchy, well-written copy
- Strong ability to layout photo spreads for online magazine editorials
- Some graphic design experience with the ability to layout graphic headlines and layouts for social media (instagram stories, instagram feed, Pinterest, etc)
- Define, refine and implement the content strategy across all social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) and online magazine
- Write engaging, catchy article titles and one-liners for social media channels
- Ensure that the weekly newsletter is copy perfect
- Analyze audience analytics from the social platforms to inform content decisions. Identify audience behavior / content trends and report them to the sales team to arm them with data for sales opportunities
- Interpret site, social and SEO analytics to inform future content-making decisions
Requirements
- You have a BA/BS in a relevant field
- You have 3+ years of copywriting/editorial experience in a digital and social media environment
- You have experience in digital media with a proven track record of finding new, interesting ways to tell stories on both social media & digital spaces
- You have strong organization and project management skills
- You are audience behavior focused and always striving to resonate with the TVR audience. You have a passion for data and identifying audience behavior trends
- Social video script writing a significant advantage +
- Being comfortable on camera is a plus ++
