ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you’ll help build and operate the lifecycle marketing engine across PayKings (high-risk merchant processing). You'll own full-funnel programs including draft-stage nurture, application reminders, post-approval onboarding, activation, reactivation, retention, and renewal across email and SMS. You'll write the copy, build the flows, configure the segmentation, run the A/B tests, and report on what's working.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented lifecycle marketer who can ramp quickly, write strong campaign copy, QA thoroughly, manage multiple flows at once, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, manage, and execute lifecycle campaigns across email and SMS
- Own the full merchant journey: draft nurture, application reminders, pending-info follow-up, post-approval welcome, activation, reactivation, retention, renewal
- Build and run the SMS lifecycle
- Write and edit clear, on-brand campaign copy tailored to different audiences, lifecycle stages, and business goals
- Build, QA, and launch flows with strong attention to detail ensuring audiences, segmentation, suppressions, links, UTMs, personalization, and trigger logic are accurate
- Maintain the lifecycle content calendar and communicate upcoming campaigns to sales, support, and onboarding teams
- Collaborate with sales and support to spec new triggers, surface needed data points, and align campaigns with the merchant journey
- Track campaign performance and use data, A/B testing, and insights to identify opportunities for optimization
- Adhere to and help evolve our Communication Standards
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, email marketing, CRM marketing, or a similar role preferably in a B2B, SaaS, fintech, or payments environment
- A proven track record of building, testing, and launching successful lifecycle campaigns
- Hands-on experience operating a major automation platform like SendGrid, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Customer.io, Iterable, Marketo, Braze, or comparable
- Strong copywriting skills, with portfolio examples
- Comfortable with segmentation logic, dynamic content, merge tags, and conditional flow design
- Comfortable working closely with engineering to spec triggers, request data points, and debug deliverability
- Experience managing multiple campaigns, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to improve campaign performance
- Familiarity with SMS marketing (TCPA compliance, deliverability) or eager to learn fast
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to accelerate campaign execution
- The ability to collaborate effectively, give and receive feedback, and operate with ownership in a fast-paced environment
BONUS
- Background in fintech, payments, B2B SaaS, or financial services
- Familiarity with email deliverability fundamentals: SPF/DKIM/DMARC, IP warming, list hygiene
- Has worked in API-driven stacks where automation logic lives outside the marketing platform itself
