What You'll Own
Strategy & Roadmap
- Own the full product roadmap across Fortune.com, mobile apps, subscription products, the events platforms, and internal tools including the company's CRM and martech stack
- Lead planning and execution cycles in partnership with revenue, marketing, editorial, and business units — balancing growth initiatives against platform debt and engineering, product, and design capacity
- Drive and support digital revenue growth through platform infrastructure and traffic-based best practices, ad-tech, website, video, subscription and newsletter products, personalization, and product engagement features
- Balance competing priorities in a rapidly changing media landscape using data-driven and user/customer-based insights, first-principles thinking, and analytical rigor
Product Management, Design & User Experience
- Set the standard for what good product management looks like at Fortune — how PMs work with engineering, revenue, and operational stakeholders to move from problem statements to shipped product, with clear expectations for craft, commercial instincts, and delivery
- Own the product design and UX function, partnering with engineering to establish a design system that brings consistency and a robust user experience to Fortune.com
- Set the bar for user experience quality across consumer and enterprise surfaces based on product analytics, user research, and feedback
Engineering & Platform
- Lead a distributed engineering organization across frontend, backend, data, and platform functions
- Own the core technology stack — including Fortune's web platform, CDN and performance infrastructure, and cloud architecture
- Build upon and maintain the operational scaffolding — sprint cadence, capacity planning, engineering metrics — that creates velocity without bureaucracy
- Manage third-party platform relationships across Freestar, Piano, Salesforce, Atlassian, WordPress, and other key technology vendors
AI Strategy
- Define Fortune's AI technology strategy across internal productivity, editorial workflows, and customer-facing product features
- Manage Fortune's AI vendor and seat strategy across key AI platforms including Claude, OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity
- Build AI-native features — personalized feeds, intelligent search, agentic workflows — that create durable differentiation as the content layer becomes increasingly commoditized
MarTech, CRM & Data
- Lead Fortune's martech stack, including ESP migration across B2C and B2B, Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud consolidation, and CDP evaluation
- Build Fortune's first-party data infrastructure to support subscription growth, personalization, and advertising yield
- Own the ROI measurement framework for martech investments and ensure the CRM and analytics stack drives measurable revenue growth and marketing outcomes
Organizational Leadership
- Represent product and technology on the Senior Leadership Team — translating technical complexity and choices into business outcomes
- Lead, develop, and inspire a cross-functional team of product, engineering, data, design, and IT professionals; foster a culture of innovation, and accountability
- Attract and retain top talent; develop internal leaders
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with the our US SLT and global business unit leads to ensure the product and technology roadmap supports Fortune's broader strategic agenda
What We're Looking For
- 15+ years of product and/or technology leadership, with at least 5 years at VP or SVP level or above
- Prior experience running engineering, product, and product design organizations — ideally all three simultaneously
- Background and fluency in the media industry, or at a large-scale consumer content or digital subscription company
- Track record of closing capability gaps while keeping the train running — not just maintaining existing roadmaps and achieving incremental improvements
- Exceptional executive communication and operational capabilities — able to present to a board in the morning, contribute to an architecture review in the afternoon, and navigate a wide range of stakeholder types to resolve vague or complex situations
- Fluent in AI tooling and AI-native software, product design, and product management — and clear about what AI can and cannot do yet
- Strong people leadership and emotional intelligence; demonstrated ability to build high-performing, inclusive teams across engineering, product, and design
- Commercial acumen and understanding of media business models, digital audience economics, and data monetization
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required
- An advanced degree a plus but not required in lieu of demonstrated experience
Total compensation: Range-$400,000- $450,000. This includes a Management Bonus.
Location: New York, NY (in-office)
