Job Title: Creative Manager/Copywriter
Reports to: Director of Marketing
We are looking for a hands-on Creative Manager/Copywriter who hasn't lost their love for the "craft." You are a storyteller at heart with a background in professional copywriting, but you also possess the eye and leadership to guide a full creative team, including videographers, graphic designers, a photographer, and a social media coordinator. This role bridges the gap between creative direction, content strategy, and hands-on execution. You’ll oversee the development of compelling, brand-aligned assets and messaging across all platforms.
The ideal candidate excels at cross-functional collaboration, driving consistency and engagement, and measuring the effectiveness of initiatives. You won't just manage the work. You’ll help shape the creative strategy, write and review high-stakes copy, and ensuring our visual identity matches our narrative.
What You’ll Do as Creative Manager/Copywriter:
- Strategic Alignment: Develop and execute integrated content strategies that align with brand goals and marketing objectives.
- Lead the Narrative: Own the brand voice across all touchpoints.
- High-Impact Writing: Lead the "big idea" conceptualization and personally execute copy for campaigns and product launches.
- Creative Oversight: Oversee a team of designers, videographers, and photographers to ensure work is cohesive across all platforms (web, social, advertising, video). Ensure all work is completed on time and to budget.
- Project Management: With support of Project Specialist, manage editorial calendars, campaign timelines, and creative workflows.
- Quality Control: Review and approve both art and copy to ensure they are accurate, engaging, and align with the overall message. Maintain the team’s high creative standards.
- Leadership: Lead and manage a team of creative professionals, ensuring high-quality output across video, design, photography, social media, and project coordination. Provide thoughtful creative direction and feedback.
- Collaborate: Work closely with marketing, artist relations, and public relations to create impactful, cohesive messaging.
- Stay Current: Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to drive innovation and efficiency. Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies to optimize engagement and reach.
- Ownership: A "get-it-done" attitude. You’re comfortable in high-level discussions but equally willing to jump into a newsletter draft and fix a comma when needed.
Required Qualifications of the Creative Manager/Copywriter:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, design, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in creative roles with at least 3 years in creative leadership or a senior copywriting role.
- Proven experience managing creative teams and cross-functional projects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative leadership across multiple media formats.
- Able to move between SEO-driven technical product copy and long-form thought leadership.
- Excellent communication, management, and organizational skills.
- Competent in Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms, and analytics tools.
- Design Literacy: You don’t need to be a designer, but you know how to talk to them. You understand composition, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
