Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church is seeking a full-time Communications Coordinator to join our
parish staff family. This person will build and manage a comprehensive communication plan for the
parish, connecting parishioners and families with the life and mission of the Church through our
website, bulletin, social media, Flocknote, printed and electronic media, and community outlets.
Work Schedule: Full-time, twelve-month position with occasional evenings and weekends as parish
needs require.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate is a skilled, detail-oriented communicator passionate about storytelling and
community engagement. This role works closely with the Pastor, parish staff, and ministries to
create consistent, compelling content across all platforms and represent the Our Lady of the Lake
brand as an enthusiastic Church ambassador.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive parish communication plan across all platforms (website,
social media, bulletin, Flocknote, print, and external media).
Create graphical, photo, video, and written content promoting Parish events, including flyers,
brochures, and posters.
Layout and submit the weekly parish bulletin to Diocesan; prepare weekly Commentator
announcement sheets.
Build online registration forms, QR codes, and sales forms for parish events using tools such
as Google Forms, Sign-up Genius, Square, and Wix.
Manage audio/visual equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting for parish meetings and
events.
Cultivate relationships with media outlets to facilitate external event promotion and news
coverage.
Collaborate with parish staff on event production and ensure all communications remain current
and accurate.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, or related field with a minimum of
3 years' experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva/Affinity, and social
media management
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and graphic design skills with attention to detail,
ensuring all communications reflect authentic Catholic values and messaging
Experience with photography, videography, and managing social media content
Strong character with high moral and ethical values rooted in the Catholic faith, with a
working knowledge of Catholic teaching, tradition, and culture to ensure all organizational
messaging is aligned with the mission of the Church
