Company Description Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin is a youth mentoring organization dedicated to creating strong, enduring one-to-one relationships that help children facing adversity thrive. Serving youth ages 6 through 14 in Calumet, Outagamie, Waupaca, and Winnebago Counties, the organization offers both community-based and school-based mentoring programs. These programs connect children, many from single-parent, low-income, or justice-impacted families, with carefully screened mentors and provide ongoing professional support to all matches. Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the organization's marketing, communications, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and community engagement efforts. This position is responsible for coordinating communication initiatives, creating content, maintaining brand consistency, managing digital communications, and supporting organizational outreach efforts that increase awareness of the organization's mission and impact.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Communications Coordination
- Coordinate implementation of the organization's marketing and communications plan
- Create and distribute marketing and communication materials for programs, fundraising initiatives, events, and community outreach
- Maintain brand consistency across organizational communications and materials
- Draft newsletters, press releases, promotional materials, and community communications
- Assist with media relations activities and community awareness efforts
- Track communication metrics and prepare reports on engagement and performance
- Coordinate production of printed and digital marketing materials
Organizational Communications
- Develop content for annual reports, donor communications, impact stories, newsletters, and fundraising campaigns
- Gather program information, participant stories, volunteer experiences, and organizational outcomes to support communication efforts
- Assist with internal and external communication initiatives
- Support event promotion and community engagement activities
- Update organizational marketing materials as needed
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and donor stewardship communications
Digital Marketing & Content Management
- Manage and maintain content on the organization's website and social media platforms
- Create, schedule, and monitor social media content
- Assist with email marketing campaigns and digital outreach efforts
- Monitor social media activity and engagement
- Track website, email, and social media analytics and provide recommendations for improvement
- Create basic graphic design materials using approved brand standards
- Coordinate photography and video content for organizational use
Team & Organizational Support
- Collaborate with program and development staff on marketing and communication projects
- Assist with special events, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach activities
- Provide administrative support related to marketing and communications activities
- Support community presentations and outreach initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field preferred
- Two years required, of professional experience in marketing, design, and communications
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Passion for youth mentoring and commitment to the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters
Critical Skills & Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and sense of urgency to drive towards project accuracy and completion
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, Publisher and Adobe Cloud required
- Experience with website development/maintenance, proficient use of social media and familiarity with web-based programs for communications
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and community engagement
Compensation:
The compensation for this Full-Time position (32 hours/week) is competitive pay commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vacation, holidays, wellness days, 401k retirement account and an Employee Assistance Plan.
