Director, Government Contracting Programs
The WBDC is hiring for a Director, Government Contracting Program and Services. This role is based in Chicago. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Managing Director, Entrepreneurial Servies, Division II.

The Role:
The Director, Government Contracting Programs develops and delivers programming that provides business development services and resources to nascent, emerging, and established business owners. This role, as Director of the APEX Accelerator at the WBDC also focuses on assisting small businesses competing in federal, state, and local government markets and government contracting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan, organize, and facilitate WBDC programs and services.
· Provide one on one and group advising that includes assessing needs and providing assistance to entrepreneurs.
· Establish and maintain relationships with relevant service providers, local government agencies, the local business community, and other stakeholders.
· Manage and coordinate internal resources and various subject-matter experts for execution of programs and services.
· Work with marketing to manage outreach, recruitment and promotion of workshops, events, and training sessions.
· Develop, manage and distribute outreach materials to clients, such as emails, newsletter, and social media.
· Monitor expenditures, deliverables, program effectiveness, and any required reporting.
· Adhere to the WBDC’s overall strategic goals.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
· Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
· Knowledge of government procurement principles and processes.
· Passionate about serving diverse business owners with economic development.
· Experience working with diverse groups.
· 5+ years of work experience.
· Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree is preferred).
Additional Preferred Skills:
· Experience in contract certifications and bidding in the governmental procurement environment.
· High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
· Multilingual proficiencies. Existing relationships with relevant service providers, local government agencies, the local business community, and other relevant stakeholders.

The salary range for this position within the WBDC is $70,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skillset.
