Yankee Publishing is seeking an Associate Digital Editor for The Old Farmer's Almanac brand. This role helps maintain, improve, optimize, and grow the Almanac's digital content while supporting ongoing improvements across Almanac.com. It is responsible for the ongoing stewardship of the extensive library of evergreen digital content on Almanac.com, ensuring it remains accurate, useful, and discoverable for readers.
Success in this role requires strong editorial judgment, an understanding of reader needs, and an appreciation for how people discover information online. You'll evaluate existing content, use data to inform editorial decisions, and continually improve content so it remains accurate, engaging, discoverable, and valuable over time.

Core Responsibilities
· Analyze content performance, reader behavior, and search trends to identify opportunities to improve our evergreen content.
· Improve digital content by enhancing organization, clarity, internal linking, metadata, taxonomy, formatting, usability, and overall quality.
· Maintain a large library of evergreen content through ongoing editorial updates, ensuring information remains accurate, current, and useful by resolving issues such as outdated information, broken links, formatting problems, and structural inconsistencies.
· Contribute to larger content improvement initiatives, including site-wide refreshes, reorganizations, and other strategic editorial projects.
· Amplify content by helping develop and manage editorial calendars for newsletters and other digital channels to support the timely promotion of seasonal and evergreen content.
Qualifications Required
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
· 2–5 years of professional experience editing published digital content for a publisher, media company, or other content-focused organization.
· Demonstrated experience editing digital content created by subject matter experts to improve clarity, organization, accuracy, and overall quality.
· Experience working within a content management system (CMS) in a professional publishing environment.
· Experience using digital publishing, search, and content performance tools (such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms) to evaluate content and inform editorial decisions.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high editorial standards.
· Curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continually improving existing content.
Qualifications Preferred
· Knowledge of or enthusiasm for gardening and growing, with familiarity in one or more Almanac content areas such as weather, astronomy, food, home, or DIY.
· Interest in evolving search technologies, including AI-powered search experiences, and how editorial content can be optimized for visibility, discoverability, and reader engagement.
