Voice Media Group is looking for an experienced Membership Manager to lead our reader contribution programs in our newsrooms at Denver Westword, Miami New Times, Dallas Observer and Phoenix New Times.
We’re seeking a candidate with experience running or working on a reader contribution or membership program within a media organization/newsroom OR who has experience working in a journalism marketing role. This role will focus on program optimization (member acquisition, engagement and retention) and the analysis and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role works closely with the editorial and marketing teams, and should have the ability to create newsletter campaigns and have an eye for strong graphic design.
This full-time position offers a salary range of $72,000-$80,000 per year. This role is based in Denver and reports to the editorial director. Some travel to Voice Media Group offices in Miami, Dallas, and Phoenix is required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive membership acquisition and retention strategy plan to expand the membership base and engage with existing members;
- Manages all day-to-day activities associated with the overall program success;
- Manage our contribution management platform partnership with News Revenue Hub;
- Forecast, manage and analyze program performance metrics;
- Work with leaders across departments (editorial, marketing, tech) to communicate and execute membership campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, journalism or a related field;
- 2+ years with experience in a newsroom or media organization working on the team that increases membership and/or reader contributions;
- Be well-versed in current loyalty marketing and membership subscription best practices;
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities, take initiative and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience in modeling and analyzing various KPIs;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to establish and build business relationships.
