Summary
- The main function of a Graphic Designer is to create designs, concepts and sample layouts based on design principles and concepts. A typical graphic designer needs to have a high level of creativity and be able to communicate their ideas to both internal and external clients. The ability to be flexible to client demands, work well under pressure and multi-task are required skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan, analyze and create visual solutions to communication problems
- Develop overall layout and production design of publications or web interfaces as they relate to graphic design
- Prepare sketches or layouts to present to client
- Create charts and graphs from data given
Typical Day in the Role:
- Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to ensure that the visual designs align with many different deliverables and will be mainly focused on internal communications
- Key Projects: This role will support Comms work including brand alignment across PowerPoint presentations, SharePoint visual updates, visual diagrams support, Viva Engage template support, newsletter headers and consistency across all deliverables
- Typical Task Breakdown and Operating Rhythm: The role will consist of more meetings in the beginning (20-30%) and the remainder will be solo heads down work (70-80%)
Qualifications
- Associate degree in design and/or certificate in graphic design preferred. Bachelor's degree in design or related field preferred
- 5-7 years’ experience required
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving ability
- Basic ability to utilize various forms of media, including print, electronic and film
- Basic ability to visualize in 2D and 3D and understand aesthetic aspects of design
- Previous experience using the computer to create layouts and generate new images
- Experience with Adobe publishing and graphics software

Candidate Requirements:
- Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field
- Degrees or Certifications Required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role but is nice to have
- Disqualifiers: Candidates with no storytelling experience, a heavier focus on research/interaction design will not be eligible for the role
- Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain heavy experience with storytelling and branding, Figma, Accessibility, PowerPoint (expert, management, consistent graphics), Viva Engage, SharePoint (apply branding to SharePoint), for 2nd HC, any financial services industry experience or familiarity is a big plus
- Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and deadlines
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with PowerPoint (Expert level)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with Figma
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with Stakeholder collaboration for Visual Design
