The VP EPW Growth Marketing is responsible for all growth-driving marketing initiatives. This leader is primarily responsible for driving cross-functional alignment on growth priorities for all core business funnels, including implementing and optimizing cross-channel campaigns and as well as marketing user experiences to improve funnel conversion rates.
The Growth Marketing leader leads all customer acquisition and retention marketing efforts for EPW focused on the direct to consumer (e.g., off the street audiences) and to the 18M participants seeking advisory services as an extension of their workplace engagement with Empower. Partnering with the internal agency and Product and Technology leadership, the VP EPW Growth Marketing is responsible for driving the requirements for Empower's overall marketing technology infrastructure to improve targeting, speed to market, tracking and overall performance of direct response marketing campaigns.
This leader works directly with EPW's executive team including the President of EPW, Head of Strategy, Head of Product, Head of Technology, Head of Sales, Head of Operations, Head of Customer Engagement, Head of Finance and members of their teams.
What You Will Do
- Drive acquisition and lifecycle marketing strategies, campaigns and optimization to support EPW improve its core business KPIs and meet annual earnings goals.
- Co-lead all data-driven test-and-learn strategies with the Head of Product Growth to improve funnel conversion rates for direct to consumer and plan participant funnels.
- Lead testing and development of marketing's incrementality and attribution logic and rationale; align with EPW finance and analytics team.
- Drive strategy and implementation of marketing campaigns to acquisition and upsell efforts that will drive accretive growth.
- Develop and optimize EPW's channel investments within SEM, Paid Social, programmatic display, Affiliate and Co-Reg to drive Finance approved payback on campaigns.
- Lead development and execute campaign optimization around EPW's new attribution and incrementality logic for all channels, all campaigns, all audiences.
- Develop EPW's Lifecycle Marketing function, tasked with engaging new customers, cross selling/upselling customers into higher tier products and reducing redemptions and attrition.
- Work with Head of Product Growth and Head of Product Marketing to streamline EPW's referral product and make core to our lifecycle and acquisition efforts.
- Rebuild all legacy and disparate Lifecycle Marketing programs into one central strategy and program; improve performance.
- Work with Sales & Product leadership to implement data-driven Next Best Action programs and to match leads with advisors to improve closing rates.
- Drive requirements for behavioral segmentation that informs testing, messaging, and automated trigger campaigns.
- Align with Product Growth, Product/Marketing Analytics and User Experience teams to identify and fix user experience pinch points to improve funnel conversion metrics.
- Lead the requirements and develop solutions to improve EPW's marketing technology infrastructure to improve audience management and targeting, reporting, and channel performance. This includes enhancing the Empower Communication Engine (ECE) to support marketing communication, lead sourcing, and marketing/product personalization.
- Work with Head of Marketing Operations to improve our internal processes and speed to market.
- Work with EPW Head of Strategy and Head of Product on new business partnership opportunities that are brand appropriate and drive acquisition growth.
- Own EPW marketing budget management, accruals, actualization and monthly spend schedule.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; MBA is a plus.
- 20+ years of marketing and/or product management experience
- Proven track record of growth testing, digital marketing and leveraging data to make decisions at high profile companies.
- Extremely analytical and quantitative minded.
- Exceptional Cross-functional team management & influence skills.
- Excellent multi-tasker
- Expert in digital media and direct response marketing
- Proficient in budget planning and management
- Excellent contract negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Familiarity with modern testing and tracking tools including Google Analytics, Optimizely, Amplitude aHREFs, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple teams with different focus areas
- Must be able to influence other organizations.
- Familiarity with OKR and goal setting process
What will set you apart
- Direct financial services experience is not required but will be encouraged due to the complexity of our business and industry.
- Previous experience working in conversion rate optimization at either a FinTech firm or other consumer technology companies is considered a positive.

Base Salary Range
$179,700.00 - $260,625.00
The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
