The Account Manager for Industry Sales and Operations plays a pivotal role in driving revenue and ensuring smooth operational execution for Digestive Disease Week (DDW) and related events. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional sales skills, client relationship management expertise, and a keen eye for detail.
The Account Manager is responsible for generating revenue through exhibit space and sponsorship sales, while also providing comprehensive support to industry supporters to maximize their participation and satisfaction.

POSITION TITLE: Account Manager, Industry Sales and Operations - Digestive Disease Week
REPORTS TO: Director, Industry Sales and Operations
SUMMARY: The account manager, industry sales and operations will be responsible for driving revenue through the sale of exhibit space and sponsorship opportunities for our events in addition to overseeing the operational aspects related to exhibits and sponsorships to ensure smooth execution and maximum satisfaction for our supporters.
Duties And Responsibilities
All responsibilities below are for Digestive Disease Week (DDW), the Crohn's & Colitis Congress and any other events that may arise.
- Execute sales plan to meet or exceed revenue targets for exhibit space and sponsorship sales for accounts/companies starting with the numbers and letters A through G.
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities within relevant industries or target markets. Maintain all CRM records for alpha split range. Maintain approval pipelines.
- Vet and approve all new company applications for accounts within the alpha split range.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to maximize their participation.
- Maintain exhibitor and sponsorship records in floorplan and sponsorship system ensuring information is updated on a regular basis.
- Serve as account manager for assigned accounts. This will include but is not limited to:
- Assist with exhibit space and sponsorships selection.
- Distribute invoices, deadline reminders, informational emails, operational forms, payment reminders, missing information reminders and any post show metrics/reports to industry supporters.
- Collect and review all submitted forms and information that the supporter has provided. Work with supporters to obtain any missing information.
- Make sure all deadlines are met for assigned accounts.
- Approve all sponsorship artwork, exhibit space drawings, giveaways, in-booth presentations, and any other aspects that need approval for assigned accounts.
- Act as a full-service primary point of contact for all industry supporter needs.
- Set up weekly/bi-weekly calls with key accounts to ensure all needs are met.
- Assist exhibitors with registration of personnel and visa request letters as required for assigned accounts.
- Facilitate post show meetings to gather feedback and insights to help improve future events.
- Recommend exhibit, virtual and operations policy updates, and process enhancements.
- Assist with weekly reports that need to be updated and sent to the Director, Industry Sales and Operations.
- Assist with monthly newsletter creation.
- Assist with review of all sales pieces created by marketing. This includes but is not limited to: prospectus, sales emails, marketing tools, etc.
- Other duties consistent with this position as assigned.
Qualifications
- BA with a focus on business/sales/marketing preferred.
- 3+ years sales and/or client relationship/management experience preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, deadline oriented, high-demand sales environment.
- Must be a team player and manage high-pressure situations and multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Highly professional, assertive, possesses a mature and positive attitude especially when dealing with colleagues, customers, vendors, and other corporate contacts.
- Must have Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook experience. Preference given to individuals with extensive knowledge of Excel to prepare forecast margins, and estimated revenue. The ability to use filtering, pivot tables and knowledge of complex equations is necessary.
- Experience with the Map Your Show platform for floor plan management.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
