Job Summary
The Awareness Manager (a.ka. Development and Fundraising Manager) will spearhead development efforts of Selah Freedom to help raise awareness and funding. This position is responsible for the successful execution of fundraising initiatives which includes participating in all aspects of the gift cycle, expanding fundraising capacity, managing donor relations and grant applications. The manager will coordinate initiatives with the Executive Director and management of the Awareness team.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Awareness
- Manage Awareness Coordinators in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Sarasota Counties.
- Oversee speaking engagement schedule; help secure and conduct speaking engagements.
- Oversee grant reporting and ensure deliverables are met.
- Oversee events/community booths/Virtual Fairs/Community Involvement.
- Build community partnerships and relationships in part by attending networking and community events
- Oversee Faith Relations and ensure partners are being met with regularly.
Volunteer
- Manage Volunteer Advocate.
- Assist Awareness Advocate when needed with volunteer events, Survivor Christmas, questions from volunteers, social media, newsletter, donations, and volunteer database.
Marketing, Public and Media Relations
- Manage Digital Marketing Specialist.
- Along with Executive Director works with contracted Public Relations company to handle media requests/ appearances and plan PR schedule.
- Oversee and give creative guidance on creation of Selah Freedom flyers, marketing materials and legislative materials with numbers and stats for the current year.
Development and Fundraising
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of the Development Plan that incorporates a range of strategies including annual appeals, major donors, grants, corporate and individual appeals, social media and special events.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with donors, the business community, elected officials, and media outlets.
- Meets prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them.
- Oversee recorded donations on an ongoing basis in the donor database and ensure acknowledgments and thank you letters are sent. Design and run reports for Executive Leadership.
- Attend networking events to increase professional network, refine relationship management skills, and enhance outreach and capacity.
- Support and oversee all fundraising events with growth in revenue and sponsorships.
- Manage event budget; assist with event preparation, and attend events to assist in set up, implementation, and clean up.
- Collaborates with the Executive Director and Awareness Team to build and drive the organization's overall fundraising strategic goals.
- Responsible for achieving fundraising goal and maintaining budgets.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Graphic Design with a minimum of 3 years of development, major gifts and fundraising experience with supervisory capacity.
- Highly energetic professional with a proven track record of building donor relationships and closing gifts.
- Technical skills should include MS Office, Google Docs and a working knowledge of donor databases, preferably Classy.
- Flexibility and willingness to adjust workdays and hours to occasionally accommodate events, and leadership coverage as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to professionally organize, present and articulate information in an effective and understandable manner, both verbal and written
