Overview
ThinkNW is a member-based nonprofit organization focused on the success of professionals, practitioners, students, companies and organizations in the advertising, brand, media and marketing industries. The organization is looking for a freelance content coordinator to help facilitate ThinkNW’s next phase of growth.
ThinkNW plans to publish at least one piece of video/audio/written content per week—with up to three pieces per week—on the ThinkNW website. Additionally, ThinkNW plans to create at least two newsletters per week.
While this role primarily involves digital/online content, there is a likelihood that planning includes live events/seminars/sessions.
This role is key to ensuring that ThinkNW consistently engages with its members and partners, develops the most relevant content and consistently publishes strong thought leadership and subject matter expertise.
This role is remote and can be anywhere in the Pacific Northwest of the United States (Oregon, Washington, Idaho).
This role is freelance and is not eligible for benefits (i.e., insurance, retirement).
Specific Responsibilities
Project Management
- Work with the Executive Director to organize editorial/show/content plans and calendars
- Maintain and consistently refine processes and systems
Show Topic Creation
- Work with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, sponsors and partners to develop a master list of show topics and identify the most appropriate subject matter experts/guests/hosts
Show Scheduling + Organization
- Work with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, sponsors and partners to schedule shows, including providing calendar invites, prep documents and links to studios (online/digital)
- Work with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, sponsors and partners to schedule shows, including providing calendar invites, prep documents, run of show and links to the venue (in-person)
- Post events on the ThinkNW website and LinkedIn
Newsletter Creation
- Create two newsletters per week
- Newsletter 1: News and content roundup
- This newsletter requires research/outreach on member news
- Newsletter 2: Events, experience and awards
- This newsletter focuses on ThinkNW and partner events and awards
Member + Partner Content Outreach and Relationship Management
- Consistent outreach to ThinkNW members, sponsors and partners to encourage active participation in content creation and development
Content Editing, Recaps + Posting
- Creation of short video/livestream recaps to post on the ThinkNW site
- Editing of member/sponsor blogs and content to post on the site
- Creation of post-hero images using Canva
- Posting of content on the ThinkNW site using WordPress
Social Communication
- Coordinate with social agency on new content and provide context/briefs
Logo Remix Artist Outreach
- Reach out and schedule ThinkNW Logo Remix artists each month
Compensation
- This position is a freelance/contract position at 20 hours per week
- Monthly compensation is $2,400 per month
- This position does not qualify for medical (health, dental, etc.) or retirement benefits
- All hours and projects must be tracked via the Harvest app (login provided)
- There may be a year-end discretionary bonus upon approval of the ThinkNW board and finance director. This is not guaranteed.
Education and Experience
- This role is for anyone with at least one year of experience and specific expertise in developing content and project management.
Specific skills:

- WordPress, Canva are and Mailchimp preferred, but we can train
