Part-time Social Media and Marketing
We are seeking a talented Social Media Manager and Creative Writer to join our family-owned outdoor paddleboard and kayak retail and service business. As the primary voice of our brand on social platforms, you will be responsible for blog writing, newsletters, and creating engaging content, managing social media accounts, and driving brand awareness.
We're looking for someone with a passion for storytelling, excellent writing skills, and a deep understanding of social media platforms.
Responsibilities:
Social Media - Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
- Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand visibility and engagement. Monitor social media trends and industry news to identify opportunities and provide monthly performance reports.
- Create compelling content for social media platforms, including posts, captions, and multimedia assets.
- Manage all social media accounts, including scheduling posts, responding to comments, and engaging with followers.
- Available to work onsite for special events
Blog Writing - WordPress
- Conduct thorough research on industry-related topics to generate ideas for blog posts.
- Write clear, compelling, and engaging blog posts that align with our brand voice and target audience.
- Edit and proofread blog posts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to our style guidelines.
- Collaborate with the content team to develop blog content calendars and plan topics based on content strategy and SEO priorities.
- Optimize blog posts for search engines by incorporating relevant keywords and meta tags.
Newsletter - Mailchimp
- Develop, plan, and execute newsletter content strategy in alignment with marketing goals and objectives.
- Write compelling and relevant content for newsletters, including company updates, product announcements, industry news, and promotional offers.
- Design visually appealing newsletter templates using email marketing software or graphic design tools.
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization to gather content, updates, and insights for inclusion in newsletters.
- Segment email lists and personalize newsletter content to cater to different audience segments and interests.
- Monitor email marketing performance metrics, such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversions, and optimize campaigns for better results.
Requirements:
- Experience managing social media accounts and creating engaging content.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong attention to detail and grammar.
- Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and concepts.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices is a plus.
- Passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of various social media platforms and their audiences.
