Marketing and Office Coordinator
Location: Boulder, Colorado
Deeper Africa, an award-winning African safari operator, is looking for a full-time Creative Design and Marketing Coordinator to join our team. We seek a grounded and skilled individual. A college degree or travel business experience is not necessary, but it is a plus. At a minimum, you should be interested in international business and creative design. We require a minimum of two years’ work experience.
We are an entrepreneurial-focused, growing safari travel company. We offer exceptional wildlife viewing and cultural experiences to our travelers in eight different African countries. At the same time, we work to bring ethical travel practices into the mainstream of African business. We intend to be a part of Africa’s future by helping to support and train a new generation of guides, conservationists, businessmen, and businesswomen. Duties and responsibilities:
1) Customer Service – Answer customer inquiries on the phone or by email, implement multiple customer fulfillment tasks using our project management software, monitor the customer fulfillment process to make sure that travelers are adequately prepared for their travels in a timely manner. Requires excellent people skills.
2) Team player – Punctual, attention to detail, outgoing, and willing to work across cultures with Africa team members. Cross-cultural communication skills are essential. Enjoy and prosper working as part of a team.
3) Computer and Technology - Must show expertise with technology and essential software including Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Zoom, CRM programs, and Adobe Acrobat. Must show expertise in Photoshop, InDesign, and other graphic design software. Mail Chimp or other email marketing platform experience helpful. Skype and Zoom experience essential. This is a fast-paced, results-driven, hard-working position. We need an A team player to join our USA operations.
4) Media Work– Assist with drafting a monthly newsletter to our travelers’ highlighting books, movies, documentaries, and music about the continent. We use Mail Chimp for delivery. Manage our annual traveler photo contest.
5) Graphic design Work – Manage and provide oversight to our Nairobi graphic designer. Assist him in assembling custom itineraries for our travelers using our proprietary software. Requires a good eye for great wildlife photography, plus superior copy writing skills.
6) Provide brand oversight and training to our African team members ensuring that all graphic and written materials express the Deeper Africa brand. Postings on the Social Media platforms that we use.

6. Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills - You need patience, compassion, and tact when working with our travelers and African team members.

8. Work independently, anticipate upcoming needs.
9. Excellent time management, database management, and task management skills. Our deliverables are time sensitive and require scheduling across multiple time zones. Details must be tracked, and tasks delivered on the date and time due.
10. Ability to remain self-controlled and objective during problems or urgencies. International travel includes difficult situations, urgencies, and sometimes emergencies. You must be able to remain mission focused and comfortable with a direct communication style.
