Role Description This is a full-time hybrid reporter role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, with some work-from-home flexibility. The reporter will research, gather, and verify information related to maintenance, energy, and petroleum sector activities, producing timely and accurate news reports and features. Daily responsibilities include attending briefings and site visits, conducting interviews with subject-matter experts, and monitoring industry developments and company announcements. The role involves writing clear and engaging news stories, creating multimedia content where applicable, and collaborating with editors and communications teams to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards. The reporter is expected to meet deadlines, maintain ethical reporting practices, and adapt content for various channels and formats.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills for accurate, clear, and timely coverage.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing abilities to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
- Candidates should possess Multimedia skills to produce or collaborate on visual and digital content supporting written reports.
- Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, critical thinking, and sound judgment in verifying sources and information.
- Relevant experience in journalism, media, or communications, preferably with exposure to industrial or energy sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with digital publishing tools, content management systems, and basic data analysis or research methods is advantageous.
