Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing, the Associate Writer serves as the primary writer for the Office of Marketing and Communications at the Law School.
Essential Functions
Seeks out stories and connects with law faculty and office leaders to research stories.
Writes the majority of news stories on the Law School’s website and produces additional varied copy – including write-ups for various office newsletters.
Works closely with the leaders of DEI , ADR , and other areas to plan the newsletter, write up a copy as needed, and suggest other articles.

Management Responsibilities May provide peer-level coordination or subject-matter guidance to colleagues performing similar work and/or student, part-time workers, including helping organize tasks, clarify priorities, or review work for quality or consistency.
Additional Functions
Sets up story calendars, tracks deadlines, and coordinates assignments going to part-time writers.
Tracks social media posts.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Communication Roles.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
Attention to detail and an eye for compelling facts.
Demonstrated ability to foster cooperative environments and work in a collegial fashion.
Ability to juggle priorities and manage projects from inception to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Starting Salary $66,555
Maximum Starting Salary $75,000
