Hiring Salary Range: $27.21 - $38.08
Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level
PURPOSE: This role helps share Dairyland’s story by supporting internal and external communications across social media, digital channels and other communication materials. Working under the direction of a supervisor, the Communications Coordinator creates and updates content using approved messaging, brand standards and established communications plans. This position is a great opportunity to build communications experience while helping keep employees, members and stakeholders informed and engaged.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate the social media editorial calendar by drafting, scheduling and publishing approved content across Dairyland’s social channels under supervisory direction. Monitor basic activity and share observations for review.
- Draft and edit approved content for internal and external audiences, including newsletter articles, press releases, website updates, reports, presentations and other communications as assigned, with supervisory review and approval.
- Create basic graphics, videos, templates and other communications assets using approved messaging, brand standards and direction from the supervisor.
- Provide support for the website redevelopment project by helping coordinate timelines, content reviews, stakeholder input and content updates under supervisory direction.
- Support Dairyland’s intranet and SharePoint content by making assigned updates, helping maintain sites and assisting with user guidance as directed.
- Support Dairyland’s contributions and scholarship programs by coordinating timelines, communications, materials and records.
- Provide communications and logistical support for meetings, community events and cooperative activities, including the Cooperative Day of Service volunteer event.
- Coordinate assigned communications tasks and small projects with guidance from the supervisor and within established timelines.
- Review basic communications data, audience activity and industry examples, and share findings with the supervisor for consideration.
- Collaborate with employees and departments across Dairyland to gather information, draft content and coordinate communications needs under direction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or a related digital communications field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media content, editorial calendars and digital assets.
- Experience with website content management and coordinating website design or redevelopment projects.
- Strong organizational and task coordination skills, including the ability to follow direction, meet deadlines and keep others informed of progress.
- Ability to contribute ideas for content and communications improvements within approved plans and supervisory guidance.
- Ability to review basic analytics and summarize findings for supervisory review.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, brand consistency and audience needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with photography, video, content management systems or social media management platforms preferred.
- Teamwork mindset with the ability to work effectively with employees, leaders and external stakeholders while following direction and approved messaging.
