Summary of Responsibilities: The Email and Web Specialist is primarily responsible for email strategy and creation to reach and impact various constituents of Geneva College. This role will also support the Online Marketing Manager in helping maintain all areas of the website and internet material to present Geneva College as a leader in academic quality and Christ-centered education. This position may also assist the Editorial Manager with writing content for various marketing material when needed. This position reports to the Online Marketing Manager.

E-Mail strategy, creation & ownership: Design, coordinate distribution of attractive, persuasive e-mail campaigns.
Lead effective, targeted email newsletter program.
Become the subject matter expert on email marketing best practices by continuous learning of new strategies or execution in email marketing as well as staying up to date on laws and policies concerning email marketing.
Own and develop an email marketing calendar, collaborate with various departments on event, special projects and various other email marketing communication projects that may arise.
Website management assistance:Assist with development of new content for website. Assist in updates for the website, including but not limited to posting blogs, stories, and other necessary content through the CMS portal of the website.
Brainstorm new ideas with Online Marketing Manager and stay abreast to new web technologies and features that can be incorporated on the web for future marketing efforts.
Train designated staff to be backups in website management as required.
Content strategy: Work directly with the Editorial Manager and Director of Marketing on developing comprehensive strategies that align all areas of our email marketing efforts.
Assist Editorial Manager in editing and proofreading of existing and new electronic and print materials as well as management of the Geneva Story.
Assist in the development of content surrounding the branding and roll out of associated materials.

Qualifications:
Minimum: Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: One year of previous enrollment, public relations, marketing, or telemarketing experience.
Skill/Abilities:
Ability to articulate a clear profession of faith in Jesus Christ and the implication of that faith for college admissions work.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work with a computer, including applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, aptitude to learn other software systems.
Ability to write social media and marketing copy and to edit and proofread standard English.
Ability to manage details and keep organized especially under time pressures.
Ability to solve problems and handle crisis effectively.
Ability to act as an intricate part of the Admissions team and remain focused and work independently in a multi-task, fast-paced environment.
Ability to think critically.
Christian Commitment: An eligible candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church. Preference will be given to candidates who support and have an articulate understanding of the Reformed faith. The individual must understand and support the College’s “Foundational Concepts of Christian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.
Preferred: Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from a Christian Liberal Arts Institution.
Experience: Email and web marketing strategy; HTML, CSS & Javascript experience preferred. Experience with email marketing tools such as SendGrid, MailChimp, Marketo or HubSpot preferred. Experience with Web CMS software.
